[Integrated Development of Culture and Technology] HUTB Holds Symphonic Concert Titled "Sing a Song for the Party"

"Sing a song for the Party, I compare the Party to my mother..." On the evening of July 1, HUTB held the symphonic concert "Sing a Song for the Party" at the Xiangjiang Lecture Hall of the Xiangjiang Building, as part of the “Integrated Development of Culture and Technology” theme education season and the 2024 (Spring-Summer) Campus Music Season. Chen Xiaohong, Secretary of the CPC HUTB Committee, Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory, and Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, along with Liao Xiangyue, Deputy Secretary of the CPC HUTB Committee and President of HUTB, and all other Chief Leaders, CPC HUTB Committee members, and representatives of the university's Party members, teachers and students enjoyed this stirring and inspiring red-themed symphonic concert to celebrate the 103rd anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.

This concert is jointly hosted by the Publicity Department of the CPC Committee, the HUTB Committee of the CYLC, and the School of Music. Xiao Ming, a national first-class conductor and Dean of the School of Music, served as the conductor, with the university’s Xiangjiang Symphony Orchestra performing throughout. Young teachers from the School of Music, outstanding alumni, and invited young singers participated in the performance. Liu Qing, a member of All-China Youth Federation, a member of Hunan Youth Federation, and Vice Chairperson of Hunan Literary and Art Volunteers’ Association, served as the host.

Before the concert began, everyone stood up for the playing and singing of the national anthem of the People's Republic of China.

The concert officially opened with the stirring melody of the orchestral piece "Ode to the Red Flag." The grand and majestic music deeply moved the Party members, teachers and students in attendance, filling them with joy and pride for the great motherland. "Sing a Song for the Party" is simple yet deeply emotional, with a beautiful and captivating melody that conveys the working people's profound affection for the Communist Party of China. "A Shining Star on the Horizon" features a melody that deeply resonates, filled with emotion and hope, celebrating the great journey of the Party leading the people towards victory. "Velvet Flowers" employs a gentle, lyrical, and sincere folk tune to deeply honor the sacrifice and dedication of rural girls during the revolutionary period. "Praise to Heroes" is spirited and fervent, passionately celebrating the patriotic zeal and selfless heroism of the nation's brave sons and daughters.

The orchestral suite "Red Female Army" is powerful and rhythmic, highlighting the heroic spirit and strong character of the Red Female Army soldiers. "I Love You, China" has a flowing melody that emotionally conveys boundless love for the motherland and a yearning for a better life. "Little Poplar" uses the white poplar tree as a symbol to praise the border guards' dedication to their country, their commitment to the frontier, and their selfless devotion. "Reed Flowers" is pleasant and flowing, rich in charm, and expresses a simple fisherman's daughter's deep longing and concern for her beloved who is far away defending the country. "The Place Where the Peach Blossoms" is melodious and fresh, stirring feelings of nostalgia for a beautiful hometown and a love for peaceful, serene living.

The orchestral piece "On the Field of Hope" has a beautiful and smooth melody, expressing praise for a wonderful life and celebrating a new life and the new era. "Heavenly Road" is heartfelt and stirring, rich in poetic imagery, and passionately celebrates the Qinghai-Tibet Railway and the lives of the Tibetan people. "Chasing" is grand and impressive, with stirring melodies that express boundless affection and love for the Party and the country, and convey a steadfast commitment to ideals and beliefs, as well as a quest to explore and protect them. "I Come from the Sky Like Snowflakes" is full of passion and bright, resonant vocals, conveying admiration for a beautiful life and a longing for pure, sincere emotions. The male and female quartet "I Sing a Song for the Party" radiates vibrant energy, spirited vitality, and genuine emotion, expressing the collective voice of millions. The reprise of "Don't Forget the Original Intention" is grand and majestic, with an uplifting melody that passionately celebrates the Party's glorious journey and great achievements in leading the people.

“Through the Communist Party’s hard work for the nation and its dedicated effort to save China, it has shown the path to liberation for the people and led China towards a bright future…” In the enthusiastic atmosphere of the audience singing “Without the Communist Party, There Would Be No New China,” the concert came to a successful conclusion.

This symphony concert was both an outstanding musical practice in continuing the red heritage, inheriting red genes, and promoting red culture, and a vivid session of Party spirit education for all Party members. It motivated all Party members, teachers and students to firmly uphold the strong belief of "always following the Party and advancing on the new journey," nurturing a deep love for the Party, the nation, and the university, and fully committing to the high-quality, substantial development of the university with a vibrant spirit.
