HUTB Welcomes New Students of Class 2025
2025-09-12
Eight thousand minds converge at HUTB, where innovation fuels their dreams to shine. On September 11 and 12, the university welcomes its 2025 cohort of undergraduate and graduate students for registration. Carrying dreams and expectations, they gather at HUTB from across the country to officially embark on their new university life. Across the campus, banners hang high, colorful flags flutter, and elegant display stands are set up. Smart technology products are impressively showcased. Volunteers provide warm guidance while various departments collaborate on services, unfolding a vivid picture of an intelligent, orderly, and welcoming orientation.
The CPC HUTB Committee attaches great importance to the orientation work. A leading group has been established, with functional departments and secondary schools collaborating to form a coordinated mechanism linking the South, North, and Moon Island campuses. All departments completed preparatory work, including resource allocation, venue setup, network testing, and volunteer training, one week in advance. These efforts aim to provide new students with a comprehensive "one-stop" registration experience.

On the 11th, volunteers and faculty members are already in position. At the South Campus's Qunxing Plaza, school tents are neatly arranged with clear signage. Orientation staff patiently answer every question from new students. On the North Campus's Feiyue Track and Field, the registration channels are wide and unobstructed, ensuring an orderly process. Inside the Lide Building hall at the Moon Island Campus, registration stations are well-zoned. Faculty and students show great enthusiasm, maintaining an efficient reception procedure.

Every detail of the orientation across the campus reflects thoughtful preparation. From the subway exit to the university gate, and from the gate to the registration points, clearly visible signs are placed along the entire route. Volunteers provide guidance throughout the journey. This year, the university further optimizes the traffic flow. New students at the South Campus can exit at Gate 1 of the "Hunan University of Technology and Business Station" on Metro Line 6. After a hundred-meter walk, they enter through the North Gate to reach the registration area. Those heading to the North Campus or Moon Island Campus can take dedicated orientation shuttle buses from Gate 3 of "Moon Island West Station" on Metro Line 4 for direct, point-to-point transport to campus registration.
A strong sense of technological sophistication is a highlight at the orientation sites. Leveraging the innovative platform of Xiangjiang Laboratory, the registration points across campuses feature interactive exhibition zones with humanoid robots and quadruped robots. Award-winning projects from students who participated in the China Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Competition are also on display. Many new students and their parents take photos at the "Campus Vlog Check-in Location," using the on-site vlog system to record this memorable campus entry moment. Simultaneously, the university promotes smart services through its "All-in-One Card" system. On-site identity verification and eligibility checks are conducted, allowing new students to complete registration quickly by simply "one signature, one verification, one collection."

Essential support services, including environmental cleaning, supply logistics, catering, accommodation arrangements, and power supply, progress orderly across all three campuses. Over a hundred facilities, such as orientation tents, banners, directional signs, and cultural walls, are set up. To combat the hot weather, cooling ice blocks, drinking water, and paper cups are provided at all registration points. Dining hours are extended. Designated orientation service windows are set up at the Cuiya Canteen (South Campus), Jinmi Restaurant (North Campus), and Hongyun Building Restaurant (Moon Island Campus) to provide ample catering services for staff and volunteers. Medical personnel remain on duty throughout the event to ensure full medical support.
Student volunteers are stationed at key locations including subway exits, university gates, registration areas, and dormitory buildings. They push luggage carts, continuously shuttling between the university gates and student apartments. They staff information desks, patiently answering questions and distributing anti-fraud leaflets. They move through the crowds holding directional signs, their foreheads beaded with sweat but their faces always bright with smiles. Their dedicated efforts serve as a vital bridge for new students integrating into campus life. Thoughtful campus service vehicles and quadruped robots are also deployed to assist new students with transporting their luggage to the student apartments.

On September 12, as the orientation activities wind down, faculty members from various secondary schools visit the student apartments. They check on the new students' accommodation status and provide detailed answers to their questions. The schools also prepare distinctive "welcome packages" for the newcomers, containing items like culture T-shirts, major introduction brochures, and anti-fraud tip cards, demonstrating thoughtful care.
Thus, the university journey for the Class of 2025 officially begins. They will acquire knowledge, forge lasting friendships, and pursue their dreams on this vibrant campus of HUTB. Meanwhile, the university is committed to creating an even more conducive environment for learning and growth, guiding every HUTB student to write a brilliant chapter of their youth.
