2025-09-25

Golden autumn brims with vitality, uniting the HUTB community; running tirelessly to chase dreams, youth's spirit soars with energy. On the afternoon of September 23, the university simultaneously holds the opening ceremony of the 2025 Fall-Winter Sports Season and a campus mini-marathon for faculty and students across its South, North, and Moon Island campuses.

Vice President Zhang Ling delivers the opening address. She states that the CPC HUTB Committee attaches great importance to building a "Sports HUTB" and hopes that faculty and students will forge unity through encouragement, temper their character through mutual support, and build resilience through persistence. May the HUTB spirit and sportsmanship resonate in harmony. She wishes the 2025 Fall-Winter Sports Season a complete success and declares the event open. Gan Dejian, Member of the CPC HUTB Committee and Vice President of HUTB, chairs the opening ceremony.

At the event, faculty from the School of Sports and Health lead participating teachers and students in warm-up exercises. With the powerful beat, the venue is already buzzing with excitement. With synchronized movements—rotating heads, stretching shoulders and arms, rapid high-knee lifts—the sound of feet pounding the ground during alternating leg leaps becomes dense and resonant, transforming into the most powerful pre-race charge. The athletes' enthusiasm is ignited. Everyone is in high spirits with determined eyes, awaiting the starting whistle in their best condition.

The faculty and student campus mini-marathon kicks off enthusiastically. The competition is divided into student competitive, student participatory, and faculty/staff categories, held simultaneously across all three campuses. With the starting gunshot, the Feiyue Track and Field at the South Campus instantly erupts with excitement. Faculty and students sprint from the starting line like arrows released from a bow. Their figures race across the track, wind whistling past their ears and sweat dripping onto the runway. Every arm swing brims with power, and every stride writes a chapter of fervent youth. The Zhuifeng Track and Field at the North Campus is equally charged with passion. Participants push forward with determined and spirited strides, chasing one another while offering mutual encouragement. Cheers continuously rise alongside the track, composing a moving melody of youth. Students at the Moon Island Campus run against the wind, their figures weaving through the brand new campus. Their eyes shine like stars, their strides are brisk yet resilient, and cheers rise and fall along the route. The three campus venues echo one another from afar, with fluttering flags and enthusiastic cheers intertwining, fully showcasing the enterprising spirit and vibrant energy of HUTB's faculty and students.

The participating students share different reflections on the experience. Xu Lei, a competitive category participant from Class 2502 of Language, Math, and Intelligence, states that as a sports enthusiast, each participation is inevitably about challenging himself, and he hopes to continue taking part next year to keep pushing his limits. Long Xiangling, a participatory category participant from Class 2502 of Data Management, shares that she persisted through the entire course, feeling her physical potential awakened, and will actively engage in various athletic events held by the university going forward.

It is reported that this event is organized by the university's Sports and Health Promotion Committee, with the Labour Union, the Student Affairs Division, the HUTB Committee of the Communist Youth League of China, and the School of Sports and Health jointly hosting it. Centered on enriching the healthy athletic lives of faculty and students, the event focuses on fostering a positive sports atmosphere. It guides everyone to actively participate in fitness, develop exercise habits, strengthen their physique, and temper their willpower through sweating. This makes the spirit of "Sports HUTB" shine even brighter, gathering powerful health momentum for building an innovative first-class university.
