HUTB Approved as Provincial University Student Entrepreneurship Incubation Base of Hunan
2025-10-20
Recently, the Department of Human Resources and Social Security of Hunan Province announced the third batch of recognized provincial university student entrepreneurship incubation bases. With its advanced incubation philosophy, comprehensive incubation system, and remarkable entrepreneurial outcomes, HUTB has been successfully approved as a provincial university student entrepreneurship incubation base.
In recent years, the CPC HUTB Committee has placed high importance on university student entrepreneurship. Academician Chen Xiaohong, Secretary of the CPC HUTB Committee and Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory, has coordinated deployments and advanced the deep integration of innovation and entrepreneurship education with practice from a strategic level. Leveraging four national-level platforms, including being among the first national model universities for deepening innovation and entrepreneurship education reform and a national-level maker space, the university creates comprehensive entrepreneurial support for students. It provides dedicated innovation and entrepreneurship spaces totaling 30,000 square meters, including a 12,000-square-meter Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Creation Park. It has also established three specialized incubation centers focusing on AI digitization, "Culture + Technology," and cultural creativity and e-commerce. The university has built a cultivation and incubation system that integrates "industry-discipline-entrepreneurship" and combines "entrepreneurship education, guidance, and incubation," gradually forming a distinctive "HUTB Model" for university student entrepreneurship incubation.

As of now, the base has incubated a total of 321 entrepreneurial projects, achieving a success rate of 65%. The cumulative revenue has exceeded RMB500 million, generating over 5,000 jobs. It has nurtured a group of "golden seed" projects that combine innovative vitality and market competitiveness, contributing to local economic development. Outstanding entrepreneurs emerging from the base include Guo Taibiao of "Computing Power Pinduoduo," who tackled core technologies in intelligent computing; Xiao Zhixiong of "Daylily Prince," deeply engaged in rural revitalization; Peng Shiping, founder of Enjoy Wonderland, listed on the Hurun China U30s; and Wang Xinqi, who led Yuanqi Culture to exceed RMB100 million in revenue. They have become role models for the entire student body, demonstrating practical engagement and bold entrepreneurship.

Moving forward, the university will continue to implement the CPC Central Committee and the State Council's decisions on innovation and entrepreneurship. Aligned with the "Seven Priorities" deployment by the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and the Hunan Provincial Government for supporting university student entrepreneurship, it will further optimize the incubation base's operational mechanisms and expand its service functions. By providing superior resources and more precise guidance, the university aims to advance high-quality development in student innovation and entrepreneurship, striving to cultivate more "daring and capable" entrepreneurs of the new era. This will inject more "HUTB strength" into realizing Hunan's "Three Highlands, Four New Missions" blueprint and building a modern industrial system.
