From May 31 to June 2, the "Toward 2035: Integrating Creativity for the Future" Science and Culture Expo and the 2nd Science and Technology Festival, jointly organized by HUTB and Xiangjiang Laboratory, was held in Changsha. During the event, 46 technological achievements from Xiangjiang Laboratory and 138 achievements from HUTB were announced, covering fields such as artificial intelligence, advanced computing, intelligent perception, smart manufacturing, electronic communication, resource environment, smart society, and culture and technology.
The event lasted for 3 days and included the opening ceremony, the Lushan Lecture and Lectures for Cadres, the "Integration of Computing Power, Algorithm, Computing Basis and Computing Network" technology sharing session, an AI+ design art exhibition, an artificial intelligence-themed science and technology exhibition, tech project investment and financing roadshows, the Cultural HUTB, the Science and Technology Innovation Forum, the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Alumni Forum, innovation and entrepreneurship project roadshows, a concert of famous Chinese and foreign songs, a dance music concert, a Hunan business culture theme exhibition, a traditional culture exhibition, a cultural creativity market, a college student concert, and a food festival, among 25 activity units.
Among these, the AI+ design art exhibition in the university's Creativity Gallery features works by the 2024 graduating class of the Design & Art Institute. These pieces, enhanced by the technology of Xiangjiang Laboratory's Metaverse Research Team, utilize cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, mixed reality, and 3D scene reconstruction, giving the artworks richer presentation forms and vibrant vitality.
Chen Xiaohong, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Secretary of the CPC HUTB Committee, and Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory, stated at the meeting that this Science and Culture Expo and Science and Technology Festival represent another vivid practice of the integration of culture,science and technology. It will help further enhance the university's distinctive brands of "Innovative HUTB," "Cultural HUTB," and "Artistic HUTB," and vigorously cultivate interdisciplinary talents who are knowledgeable in cultural creativity, technology, industry, management, and finance. In the future, the university will continue to focus on the integrated development of science, technology and culture.
During the expo, Xiangjiang Laboratory also signed cooperation agreements with the Public Security Department of Hunan Province, Hunan Radio, Film and Television Group Co., Ltd., and Hunan Energy Investment Group Co., Ltd.
The event also attracted participation from academicians and experts of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, including He Jishan, Lu Xicheng, Hu Wenrui, Lu Chunfang, Ouyang Xiaoping, Fan Guobin, Liu He, Yang Changfeng, Yang Hong, and Wu Aixiang.
