HUTB Taekwondo Team Achieves Excellent Results in Chinese College Students Taekwondo Championship

Recently, the Chinese College Students Taekwondo Championship (finals) concluded in Xianning, Hubei. In the previous intense southern regional qualifiers, five members of the university's taekwondo team successfully placed in the top eight and secured a spot in the finals. At the national finals, which saw over 140 universities and more than 780 athletes participating, our team, led by head coach Wu Yingguang, overcame tough competition to achieve two silver medals, one bronze medal, and one fifth-place finish.

In the intense and competitive taekwondo Poomsae team event, the team of students Ou Yang, Xie Guifei, and Yang Runqiong stood out with their exceptional skills and harmonious coordination. Their precise movements, control of power, and profound understanding of the Koryo and Taegeuk 5 Jang earned them two silver medals in the small team Poomsae category. Additionally, Tan Yuwei secured a bronze medal in the women’s 57kg combat division through her determined effort in the finals. (Reported by School of Physical Education and Health)
