Recently, the Ministry of Education officially announced the Notice on the Results of the 7th National College Student Art Exhibition and Performance Excellent Organization Award and Project Selections (J.T.Y.T.H. [2024] No.24). In this art exhibition, our university has received 6 honors, including 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, 1 third prize, 1 award for excellent program creation, and 1 award for excellent organization.
In this exhibition and performance event, the original short play “Glimmer,” showcasing the outstanding deeds of the recipients of the "Excellence and Diligence" HUTB Student Academician Award Fund, won the National First Prize in the Art Performance category. This is the first time our university has received the highest award in this event. The papers written by Professor Tang Huichi from the School of Music and Professor Chen Xinming from the Design & Art Institute, titled “Collaborative Innovation Practice of College Music Aesthetic Education Resources Based on the Concept of Sharing and Collaboration: ‘U-A-P-S'” and “Opening the Doors to Aesthetic Education, Integrating Resources—Constructing a New Pattern for Collaborative Advancement of College and Social Aesthetic Education,” won the National Second Prize for Outstanding Cases in College Aesthetic Education Reform and Innovation. Additionally, the Changfeng Chorus from the School of Music received the National Third Prize in the Art Performance category for their vocal performances of “Going Home” and “River Snow.” Additionally, the original short play "Glimmer" won the Excellent Creation Award, and our university received the Excellent Organization Award. HUTB achieved record highs in both the level and number of awards in this competition.
The National College Student Art Exhibition and Performance, held every three years, is currently the highest-standard, largest-scale, most influential art event in China’s educational system. This year's event is themed "Fostering Patriotism and Cultivating an Entrepreneurial Mindset." Since the launch of this event in March 2023, the university leadership has attached great importance to it. Academician Chen Xiaohong, Secretary of the CPC HUTB Committee, has repeatedly listened to reports on the preparation progress and provided guidance on the competition. The HUTB Committee of the CYLC promptly organized a special coordination meeting to formulate a work plan. The Undergraduate School, Student Affairs Division, and relevant secondary units such as the Design & Art Institute and the School of Music have actively prepared and coordinated the overall planning. Professional teachers have provided careful guidance, and participating students and teachers have sacrificed their holiday breaks for intensive training and preparation. Besides, they rigorously selected and recommended outstanding works for the performance event, fully showing the excellent artistic charm and spirit of the students and teachers at HUTB.
In recent years, our university has focused on promoting the spirit of outstanding traditional Chinese culture, adhering to the "Major Aesthetic Education" model, which emphasizes educating, enriching, and nurturing students through aesthetic education. We have continually developed “Artistic HUTB” and “Cultural HUTB” programs, creating a series of thematic works that reflect Hunan characteristics, contemporary relevance, and HUTB’s unique features, showcasing the rich results of HUTB's campus culture development.
