[Integrated Development of Culture and Technology] HUTB Hosts "Music in HUTB" Outdoor Concert

"Music in HUTB" was wonderful, and youth vitality filled the campus. On the afternoon of May 10, the first event of the "Music in HUTB" outdoor concert under HUTB's "Integrated Development of Culture and Technology" Themed Education Season, was held on Qizhi Square with great joy. Chief Leaders, including Chen Xiaohong, Secretary of the CPC HUTB Committee, Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory, and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), Liu Guoquan and Yang Liangqi, Members of the CPC HUTB Committee and Vice Presidents, and Yi Mianyang, Deputy Secretary of the CPC HUTB Committee, together with the teachers and students, enjoyed this unique and youthful concert with distinct characteristics of HUTB.

The event was jointly organized by the CPC Committee Publicity Department, the HUTB Youth League Committee, and the School of Music. Xiao Ming, Dean of the School of Music and a national first-class conductor, served as the artistic director, while Teacher Li Cheng hosted the event. The Symphony Orchestra, Changfeng Chorus, Folk Music Ensemble, and young teachers from the School of Music performed passionately.

The concert commenced amidst the smooth and exhilarating melody of the symphony "Welcome March", with its grand and stirring tune. The music created a fervent and magnificent atmosphere, conveying profound love for the motherland and utmost reverence for the people's army. The symphony "Soul of the Chinese Army" resonated with resounding strength, majestic momentum, and formidable valor, embodying the spirit of Chinese soldiers of daring to wield their swords, overcome all obstacles, and march forward with heroic resolve when faced with adversity to emerge victorious. The folk music and chorus "Ascending the Spring Peak" depicted the romantic and picturesque spring, immersing the audience in the poetic and picturesque scenery of mountains and springs, showcasing the unique charm of excellent traditional Chinese culture. The chorus "Pursuit" was grand, impassioned, and deeply moving, passionately narrating the Chinese Communists' unwavering perseverance, hard work, and the resolute pursuit of their ideals at the dawn of New China's founding. The chorus "Moni Uula" featured expansive and profound vocals, with a lingering charm that is both gentle and grand. The improvisational dance showcased exquisite skills and youthful vitality, vividly portraying the beautiful scenery of Moni Uula. The solo "Boundless Oceans, Vast Skies" was impassioned and resounding, stirring the depths of one's soul, singing out the voices of young people who fear no difficulties and remain steadfast and determined, soaring in the vast sky, and striving for their life's ideals with perseverance. The male-female chorus "Alocasia Love" with its melodious tune and heartfelt singing, evoked beautiful memories of youth, expressing a pure and sweet youthful affection. The male-female chorus "I Love You, China" brimmed with stirring passion, deeply moving and emotionally resonant, expressing the heartfelt longing of overseas Chinese for their homeland in the most vivid and heartfelt manner. The symphony "Dance of Youth" featured a lively and smooth melody, brimming with youthful passion and energy, captivating the entire audience and immersing them in its youthful vitality. The symphony "March of Steel Torrent" embodied lofty aspirations and robust rhythms, showcasing the magnificent momentum of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, which is indomitable and fearless.

It is reported that the "Music in HUTB" outdoor concert series will continue to be held at the public squares of both the North and South Campuses. By organizing high-level, high-quality, and distinctive outdoor music events, the university aims to enrich the spiritual and cultural life of the vast number of faculty and students, actively fosters an atmosphere for themed education on the integrated development of culture and technology, while continuously strengthening the construction of "Cultural HUTB" and "Artistic HUTB".
