HUTB Hosts 2024 Annual Work Promotion Meeting of Hunan Tourism Standardization Technical Committee

On the afternoon of June 26, the 2024 Annual Work Promotion Meeting of the Hunan Tourism Standardization Technical Committee was held at HUTB. Attendees included Yi Mianyang, Deputy Secretary of the CPC HUTB Committee, Hou Junjun, Member of CPC HUTB Committee and Vice President of HUTB, Shi Jinnan, Director of the Standardization Division of the Administration for Market Regulation of Hunan Province, and Zhou Shutao, Director of the Technology and Education Division of the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism. Experts and scholars from the Development and Reform Commission of Hunan Province, Hunan Provincial Tourism Society, Hunan Tourist Attractions Association, Hunan Rural Cultural Tourism Promotion Association, Hunan Museum, HUTB, Hunan Normal University, Central South University of Forestry and Technology, and Jishou University, along with representatives from various Hunan cultural tourism enterprises—over 60 attendees in total—participated in the meeting. The meeting was chaired by He Tianxiang, Deputy Director of the Hunan Tourism Standardization Technical Committee and Dean of the School of Public Administration and Human Geography.
Deputy Secretary Yi Mianyang delivered a welcome speech on behalf of the university, extending a warm welcome to the guests. At the conference, a speech from Mr. Zhang Fan, former First-Level Inspector of the unan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and Director of the Hunan Tourism Standardization Technical Committee, was also read out. Yu Jie, Deputy Director and Secretary-General of the Hunan Tourism Standardization Technical Committee, summarized the work of the committee for 2023 and presented the work plan for 2024. Directors Shi Jinnan and Zhou Shutao delivered speeches, offering guiding opinions on the work of the Hunan Tourism Standardization Technical Committee.
The meeting also issued two local standard documents: Specification for Anti-food Waste Behavior in Tourism (DB43/T 2954-2024) and Construction Standards of Intelligent Tourism Hotels (DB43/T 2285-2022). The committee members reviewed the draft Regulations on the Management of Cultural and Tourism Standardization Work in Hunan Province and provided valuable opinions and suggestions. Liu Hong, Deputy Director of the committee, delivered a training lecture titled "Procedures and Requirements for the Formulation and Revision of Local Standards," further enhancing the professional skills and work efficiency of the committee members.
As the Secretariat of the Hunan Tourism Standardization Technical Committee, HUTB’s School of Public Administration and Human Geography hosted the meeting. The purpose of this meeting was to further advance tourism standardization work, comprehensively improve standardization levels, drive the integration of cultural and tourism industries and integration of tourism and technology in the digital economy era, promote the reform, innovation, transformation, upgrading, and quality enhancement of the tourism industry. The successful hosting of the meeting marks a solid step forward in Hunan Province's tourism standardization efforts, laying a strong foundation for the high-quality development of the tourism industry in the province and providing strong support for the university's tourism discipline development.
