2024-11-21
On November 17, the 3rd "Xunkang Cup" National College Students Health Management Scenario Simulation and Sand Table Competition came to a close in Chengdu. With the strong emphasis and support from the CPC HUTB Committee and careful organization by the School of Sports and Health, a team formed by three students from the 2022 Health Service and Management major—Yang Haoyi, Zhi Changyue, and Zhao Jiacheng—under the guidance of teachers Wang Dan and Zhang Xi, performed excellently and won the national special prize with the highest overall score.
The "Xunkang Cup" National College Students Health Management Scenario Simulation and Sand Table Competition is the only disciplinary competition in the field of health services and management in China. The competition consists of three parts: health management plan design, health management scenario simulation sand table confrontation, and on-site team defense. During the scenario simulation sand table confrontation, the three team members representing HUTB responded calmly, worked together in unity, and carefully analyzed the issues based on the case. They provided practical and feasible health management solutions, demonstrating strong theoretical knowledge and comprehensive skills. After six hours of health management scenario simulation sand table confrontation, HUTB's team successfully advanced to the third phase of the defense competition, achieving first place in their group.
During the defense, they transformed into the "Three Musketeers" guarding health. Focusing on four key aspects—community background, unique highlights, strategies and methods, and simulated practice—they conducted an in-depth analysis of issues such as how the Healthy China strategy operates under grassroots organizational structures. Ultimately, they won the special prize with an absolute advantage, securing first place overall. The three participating students unanimously expressed after the competition that this event not only consolidated and deepened their understanding of health management knowledge but also greatly enhanced their problem-solving insights and the ability to apply theory in practice.
This competition was hosted by the College Education Branch of the Chinese Geriatrics Society and organized by Chengdu Medical College. It attracted teams from 85 universities across China, including Central South University, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, and Hangzhou Normal University. The competition further enhanced the discipline development and educational quality of the health services and management program, and effectively promoted communication and collaboration among universities nationwide, providing a high-quality platform for exchange and cooperation between higher education institutions.
In the next step, the School of Sports and Health will continue to promote learning through competitions, teaching through competitions, and the integration of learning with competition. It will further develop the health services and management program, continuously assess and improve students' professional abilities, and explore new talent development models, aiming to cultivate batches of innovative, entrepreneurial, applied, and interdisciplinary high-level health services and management professionals with an international perspective, contributing to the advancement of the Healthy China initiative.
