Delegation Led by Leaders of Department of Culture and Tourism of Hunan Province Visits and Conducted Research at Xiangjiang Laboratory

On the morning of December 31, Chen Xiaohong, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory, and Secretary of the CPC HUTB Committee, met with Zhou Zhiyong, Member of the CPC Leading Group and Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Hunan Province, and his delegation who were visiting for research. Liu Guoquan, Executive Deputy Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory, Hou Junjun, Member of CPC HUTB Committee and Vice President of HUTB, along with relevant department heads from Xiangjiang Laboratory and HUTB, accompanied the research visit. The exchange seminar was held in the conference room of the Lingchuang Lecture Hall on the second floor of the Xiangjiang Building.
Academician Chen Xiaohong pointed out that in recent years, Xiangjiang Laboratory and HUTB have thoroughly implemented General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speeches and instructions on Hunan's work, carried out the work deployments of the Hunan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and the People’s Government of Hunan Province, and achieved significant results in areas such as cutting-edge technological innovation, interdisciplinary integration of disciplines and specialties, cultivation of outstanding innovative talent, transformation and application of scientific and technological achievements, high-level policy advice, and social service contributions. In particular, in the "Culture + Technology" field, Xiangjiang Laboratory has established a center for cultural and technological integration and innovation, assembled a high-level research team, co-established innovation institutes with leading enterprises, launched a series of major key special projects, and produced a number of high-level innovative achievements. HUTB has established the research center for Xi Jinping Thought on Culture and the institute of science, technology, and humanities innovation, created the "Toward 2035: Integration and Innovation for the Future" Technology and Culture Expo and the Science and Technology Festival, founded and reorganized several schools of "New Engineering" and "New Liberal Arts," and has been approved for multiple national and provincial-level platform projects. Recently, HUTB and Xiangjiang Laboratory jointly established the "Culture + Technology" Integrated Development Alliance, aimed at vigorously promoting the deep integration and development of culture and technology, achieving new progress and results. Chen Xiaohong expressed the hope that the university will establish a closer cooperation with the Department of Culture and Tourism of Hunan Province, working together to contribute to the high-quality development of Hunan's economy and society.
Deputy Director Zhou Zhiyong stated that Hunan has deeply implemented General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speeches and instructions on Hunan's work. Under the strong leadership of the Hunan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and the People’s Government of Hunan Province, a series of significant achievements have been made in the integration of culture and technology. The Department of Culture and Tourism of Hunan Province will continue to strengthen cooperation with universities, research institutions, and enterprises, jointly carrying out the research and application demonstration of common and key technologies. This will enable the integration of culture and technology to play a greater role in the province's cultural and tourism development, driving the high-quality development of Hunan's cultural and tourism sector. In recent years, Xiangjiang Laboratory and HUTB have achieved significant progress in their construction and development, with their innovation capability and influence growing day by day. They have taken the lead and set an example in the "Culture + Technology" field, becoming the main force in promoting the deep integration of culture and technology in our province. He stated that, moving forward, he hopes to deepen cooperation with Xiangjiang Laboratory and HUTB, conducting in-depth research on specific projects, advancing technology research and application promotion, driving the transformation and upgrading of cultural undertakings and the cultural tourism industry, and promoting higher-quality development of Hunan's cultural tourism sector.
The participants engaged in discussions on relevant issues and reached a consensus on cooperation.
Before the meeting, leaders from the Department of Culture and Tourism of Hunan Province visited the Xiangjiang Laboratory's research achievements exhibition hall, innovation platforms such as the science and technology innovation base, as well as the university's modern academies and sports activity center. They highly commended the outstanding construction and development achievements of the university and Xiangjiang Laboratory in recent years, as well as the positive innovative results in empowering cultural prosperity and development through digital intelligence technologies.
