HUTB Holds "Spring Festival Visit to Retired Veteran Cadres" Event

On the morning of January 23, the university gathered to visit and extend their wishes to retired veteran cadres at the Zhiyuan Lecture Hall in the Xiangjiang Building. The event was attended by Chen Xiaohong, Secretary of CPC HUTB Committee, Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory, and CAE Academician, Liao Xiangyue, Deputy Secretary of CPC HUTB Committee and President of HUTB, Liu Guoquan and Yang Liangqi, members of CPC HUTB Committee and Vice Presidents of HUTB, as well as retired senior officials Deng Shuxian, Liu Dianxing, Xie Boduan, Luo Guiting, Lei Houjian, Liu Niansheng, Tang Debin, Liao Mingxing, Xia Jichun, Chen Liying, and others. Relevant department heads also attended the event. The symposium was chaired by Vice President Liu Guoquan.
Secretary Chen Xiaohong pointed out in her speech that, thanks to the collective efforts and struggles of several generations of leaders, the university has braved wind and rain, continued to strive, and achieved continuous new developments and breakthroughs. In particular, significant innovations and advancements have been made in the past decade, resulting in a substantial enhancement of the overall strength of the university. The levels of teaching, research, management, and services have reached a leading position. The university's campuses and facilities have been continuously upgraded, creating an elegant and refined campus environment. The social influence and reputation of the university have been steadily increasing. In 2023, more than 10 provincial and ministerial-level leaders and over 60 academicians from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering visited the university for research and inspection, all of whom highly praised the university's educational achievements. Secretary Chen Xiaohong expressed her hope that retired comrades would continue to support the development of the university and contribute their wisdom to the high-quality development of the university. She also urged relevant functional departments to further improve related work and provide higher quality services and guarantees for the retired comrades' healthy living.
Secretary Chen Xiaohong warmly greeted the senior leaders present at the scene, presenting them with flowers and consolation money. She sincerely thanked the senior leaders for their contributions to the development of the university and extended Spring Festival greetings to them. President Liao Xiangyue and Vice President Yang Liangqi accompanied the visit.
Comrade Liu Niansheng, on behalf of the retired veteran cadres, delivered a speech, expressing heartfelt gratitude to the university for their care and condolences to the retired comrades. He stated that the older comrades have always been concerned about the development of the university and have witnessed the rapid development and remarkable achievements in recent years under the strong leadership of CPC HUTB Committee, with Secretary Chen Xiaohong as the team leader. The university not only focuses on practical work to promote high-quality development but also cares about the welfare benefits, spiritual and cultural life, and other needs of the faculty and staff. The retired comrades have also benefited from the "dividends" of the university's development, leading to a deep sense of satisfaction and happiness among everyone. They feel a strong sense of belonging and camaraderie, and sincerely appreciate and applaud the university's efforts. All the retired comrades will retire but not rest, and continue to contribute to the development of the university.
