HUTB's 9 Master's Degree Programs Successfully Passed Special Verification

Recently, the Discipline Review Group of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council and the National Professional Master's Degree Graduate Education Steering Committee provided feedback to our university on the special verification results of degree programs. Our university's 3 first-level discipline master's degree programs in Law, Marxist Theory, and Chinese Language and Literature, as well as 6 master's professional degree programs in Finance, Applied Statistics, International Business, Journalism and Communication, Electronic Information, and Auditing have all successfully passed the special verification and will continue to be authorized.
According to the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council and the Ministry of Education's Notice on Revising and Issuing the Measures for the Qualification Assessment of Degree Programs (Degree [2020] No. 25), the qualification assessment of degree programs is an important part of China's degree authorization review system and graduate education management system, and it is divided into special verification and periodic qualification assessment. The special verification is carried out 3 years after the establishment of new degree programs to assess the effectiveness of the degree program construction. It mainly examines the completeness of the graduate education system and internal quality assurance system of the degree programs, as well as the implementation of the entire process of graduate education management. The results of the special verification are classified as "qualified" or "unqualified." Based on the verification results, the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council will make decisions on whether to continue authorization, require rectification within a specified period, or revoke the degree authorization for the verification points.
To carry out this special verification work effectively, CPC HUTB Committee and Chief Leaders attached great importance to it. The Graduate School took early action to initiate and deploy relevant work, holding several mobilization meetings, deployment meetings, coordination meetings, and refinement meetings. Liu Guoquan, a member of CPC HUTB Committee and Vice President of HUTB, listened to reports on the special verification work multiple times and put forward requirements for further handling related work. Under the overall coordination of the Graduate School, each participating degree program conscientiously sorted, summarized, and repeatedly refined the verification materials to ensure their quality and accuracy. As a result, all the work was completed in a timely and orderly manner.
Our university's 9 degree programs have successfully passed the special verification, which is a full affirmation of the construction of master's degree programs and the quality of graduate education in recent years by the Discipline Review Group of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council and the National Professional Master's Degree Graduate Education Steering Committee. Taking this as an opportunity, the university will further implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions on graduate education, solidly promote the connotation construction of degree programs, carry out in-depth reforms in graduate education and teaching, promote high-quality development of graduate education, and continuously improve the level of degree program construction and the quality of graduate training.
