Recently, the Department of Education of Hunan Province issued the Notice on Advanced Units and Individuals in the 2023 Annual Target Management Assessment of Student Financial Aid Work in Hunan Provincial Education System. Our university was honored with the title of "Advanced Unit" in the entire province.
CPC HUTB Committee attaches great importance to student aid work, thoroughly implements the national targeted financial aid policy, and closely focuses on the fundamental task of cultivating moral integrity in students. It regards "targeted financial aid" and "aid for nurturing students" as the main components of student aid work. The university is committed to cultivating assisted students with qualities such as self-reliance, honesty, gratitude, and a sense of responsibility, and it aims to construct an effective long-term mechanism for aid and student development that integrates material assistance, moral influence, capacity expansion, and spiritual motivation. The goal is to promote students' comprehensive development, contribute to their growth and success, and provide strong support for the healthy development of students from economically challenged families.
In 2023, the university established a "green channel" during the freshmen registration period, providing special financial aid to particularly needy freshmen and publicizing aid policies while facilitating deferred tuition payment procedures for financially challenged students. Additionally, in the event of natural disasters such as typhoons or earthquakes, the university promptly activated its emergency response plan, opened temporary channels for applying for financial aid, and effectively ensured the normal study and life of students. Furthermore, the university organized "The Power of Role Models" national scholarship recipients' experience-sharing sessions on the north and south campuses respectively, fully leveraging the exemplary role of outstanding students and achieving positive educational outcomes.
In the next phase, the university's student aid work will further gather resources for nurturing students through aid, optimize work mechanisms and systems, create a positive atmosphere for aid and student development, and strive to cultivate socialist builders and successors who are well-rounded in morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics, and labor skills.
