2026-05-14

To thoroughly implement the "health first" educational philosophy and promote campus health culture, HUTB launched its first Student Weight Management Boot Camp on the afternoon of May 12 at the South Campus. The event is organized by the Student Affairs Division and the Defense Education Department, and jointly undertaken by the Academy for Advanced Interdisciplinary Studies and Future Technologies and the School of Sports and Health.

At the launch event, students underwent baseline physical assessments and health screenings in an orderly manner to establish personal health profiles, laying a solid foundation for subsequent scientific and targeted weight management.

During the opening ceremony, university faculty encouraged students to leverage scientific training to not only strengthen their physiques but also temper their willpower, achieving simultaneous improvement in both physical and mental well-being. A camper representative read out the Healthy Living Commitment Pledge. The coaching team from the School of Sports and Health then outlined training disciplines and safety protocols before leading all participants in their first group workout. Under the coaches’ guidance, students quickly settled into their routines. The synchronized training session vividly demonstrated the vibrant, positive spirit of the HUTB community.

The boot camp stands as a concrete initiative to advance the university’s Healthy Campus campaign. Through regular physical training and health education, it encourages students to step out of their dormitories and onto the sports field—building robust physiques through perseverance and sweat, and enhancing resilience by pushing personal limits. The program aims to empower students to embrace their academic and daily lives with a more positive mindset and greater drive.
