A summer of laughter and youthful energy unfolded as the university’s 2026 public welfare summer camp for faculty children officially kicked off on July 13, drawing nearly 240 enthusiastic participants. On the morning of July 14, Liao Zhikun, Secretary of the CPC HUTB Committee, and Gan Dejian, Member of the CPC HUTB Committee and Vice President, visited the venue to inspect the camp’s progress.
Liao and Gan visited various training stations, pausing to watch the children in action. They spoke with the young campers, instructors, and classroom assistants, and asked in detail about the implementation of preparatory measures—including class schedules, logistical support, heatstroke and insect prevention, and daily drop-off and pick-up arrangements. They praised the campers for their high spirits and offered regards to the dedicated teaching staff, student volunteers, and staff working on the front lines.
The event was filled with laughter and vitality. Basketball games fostered teamwork, helping children build courage and friendship through running drills. Fun physical training sessions fully energized the kids, strengthening their physiques through running and jumping exercises. Table tennis sharpened their minds, honing concentration and reflexes with every rally. On the badminton court, swinging rackets stretched their bodies, relaxing their minds and lifting their spirits with each light leap. In the calligraphy classroom, practicing brush strokes helped them center their minds amid the horizontal, vertical, left-falling, and right-falling strokes, experiencing the aesthetics of traditional ink art. In classic Chinese culture classes, reading canonical texts immersed them in traditional culture, nurturing their character and guiding them to understand propriety and aspire to goodness.
Designed around children’s developmental stages and interests, the camp features six carefully curated courses: Basketball, Physical Fitness, Table Tennis, Badminton, Calligraphy, and Classic Chinese Culture, running for a total of two weeks. The university’s Labour Union made meticulous arrangements in advance, stocking up on heatstroke prevention and sports injury first-aid supplies, and completing all pre-camp preparations—including the signing of safety commitment forms, insurance registration for campers, and T-shirt size surveys. Moving forward, daily inspections will be conducted at all activity venues to dynamically identify and eliminate potential safety hazards, ensuring comprehensive logistical support and on-site management throughout the camp.
The summer camp is a key initiative for the university to address the pressing concerns of faculty and staff, care for their well-being, and deliver heartfelt services. The Labour Union will maintain strict vigilance on safety, refine service guarantees, and wholeheartedly organize this public welfare summer camp, conveying the care of the CPC HUTB Committee for faculty families through attentive services.
