HUTB Tennis Team Achieves Outstanding Results at 2026 National College Student Soft Tennis Championships

From June 15 to 18, the 2026 National College Student Soft Tennis Championships was held in Qingdao, Shandong Province. Organized by the Federation of Chinese University and School Sports (FUCUSS), the tournament brought together nearly 300 elite tennis players from 23 universities across the country. Under the meticulous guidance of coaches Li Dongqi, Wang Yin and Zeng Tongyi, the HUTB collegiate tennis team battled through four days of intense competition to secure an impressive haul of 4 golds, 1 silver and 2 bronzes.
In the team events, the HUTB men’s and women’s squads dominated the field. Facing multiple powerhouse teams, the players stayed composed, balanced attack and defense, and withstood high-pressure, high-intensity matchups while dictating the pace of play. Relying on seamless teamwork and unrelenting tenacity, they overcame all challengers to sweep both the men’s team and women’s team titles. The individual events also yielded stellar results for HUTB. The women’s doubles pair delivered fluid, well-coordinated play to claim gold with consistent, commanding performances. The mixed doubles duo executed clear tactics and synchronized teamwork to power through the bracket and add another gold to the tally. The women’s singles and men’s doubles competitors held their ground tenaciously, refusing to back down in extended rallies, and achieved personal breakthroughs amid fierce competition to both take bronze medals.
The HUTB athletes gave their all, competing with grit and passion, channeling their youth into every drop of sweat and every roar of encouragement on the court. This haul marks a historic breakthrough for the university and sounds a clarion call for future success. The banner of HUTB tennis now flies high atop the national collegiate sports stage.
