United in one room,

warmed by mutual support

—recalling the moment they learned of their collective success,

 dormitory head Yin Yihao said:

“When news came that three of our roommates had secured postgraduate recommendations,

 we were all thrilled.

We encouraged each other to step onto even higher platforms.

Before long, great news arrived for the remaining three of us as well.

The whole dorm was swept up in joy

—we celebrated together over a meal,

 talking late into the night about our plans for the future.”

That warmth and tacit understanding

 were forged over four years of living side by side.

Each semester,

 they would gather for a meal together—both at the start of term and after the final exams.

During intense study periods,

 they made a point to unwind over good food, easing the fatigue of exam preparation.

Through these regular get-togethers,

 they exchanged insights, recalibrated their mindsets,

 and grew ever closer as a team.

In their daily lives together,

 helping one another became an unwritten rule of the dorm.

During the intense preparation period,

they would wake each other up early to hit the books

 and proactively share study materials in their group chat.

After the first roommate completed a postgraduate recommendation interview,

 they immediately pooled the questions they were asked

 and exchanged hard-won interview tips, ensuring everyone was better prepared for their own turn.

When grappling with academic uncertainty or hitting a low point,

 Lv Yu reflected:

“The daytime was for all-out sprinting;

 the night was when we let our guards down.

We made it a habit to defuse exhaustion with humor

 and lift each other up with a joke.

Seeing my roommates still pushing through

 made it impossible for me to stop.

That unspoken understanding—‘You’re working hard, so I can’t fall behind’—

was more effective than any motivational quote.”

Their journey was made possible not only by peer support

 but also by the steadfast guidance of faculty at the School of Intelligent Engineering and Manufacturing.

Chen Jiakang shared:

“Whenever we felt uncertain about our future career paths,

 we turned to our class advisor, Huang Wendi, and other teachers.

They always patiently analyzed our situations and offered clear direction.

During the postgraduate recommendation period,

Professor Qin Yemei provided us with critical advice

—from selecting target universities and contacting potential supervisors to mastering interview techniques—

which proved invaluable.”

Facing similar crossroads,

 the roommates consistently sought counsel from their instructors.

During exam preparation,

 Professor Yi Yumei helped students

 bolster their confidence, analyze trends, and map out strategic plans.

Professor Zou Jiajin offered constant companionship,

 paying close attention to their mental well-being and overall growth on campus.

The staff at the Student Affairs Division also provided unwavering behind-the-scenes support.

Guided by their mentors

 after proactive consultation whenever uncertainties arose,

 the six roommates

 each charted their own distinct course

 while lifting one another up along the way.

Though they pursued different post-graduation tracks—postgraduate recommendation, national postgraduate entrance exam admission, and civil service selection—

all kept their goals sharply in focus.

Despite their staggered preparation cycles,

 they remained deeply considerate of one another’s needs:

they voluntarily kept noise to a minimum after lights-out

 to preserve a quiet, distraction-free study environment for the entire dorm.

As HUTB’s first cohort of students to secure postgraduate recommendations,

 Yin Yihao, Chen Qin, and Chen Jiakang faced the daunting challenge of selecting universities

 without any senior-year precedents to guide them.

They navigated the complex process largely through trial and error.

Fortunately, they had each other.

The trio exchanged strategies on school selection,

 pooled and cross-checked information on institutions and majors,

 and worked together to refine their interview techniques

 through mock sessions.

Through this collective effort, the initial anxiety of treading uncharted territory

 was steadily replaced by the quiet confidence needed to advance.

On the grueling, months-long road to the national postgraduate entrance exam,

 Liu Hao and Yin Liangliang leaned on each other to ease pressure.

During short post-meal breaks,

 they would sit together

 to discuss key concepts, swap revision tips,

and occasionally quiz each other on core test points and common pitfalls in Political Science and Theory,

 reinforcing their learning in a relaxed way.

 Lv Yu—preparing for the civil service selection—admitted to

feeling a brief sense of disparity.
