2026-06-03
To further advance the “Visit the Grassroots, Identify Problems, Find Solutions, and Promote Development” campaign, the university held a “Chief Leaders Reception Day” event at the meeting room of Zhuiguang Building on the North Campus on the afternoon of June 2. Liao Zhikun, Secretary of the CPC HUTB Committee, met with faculty and student representatives to “listen to their appeals face-to-face and solve their problems heart-to-heart,” precisely responding to and addressing the thoughts, needs, and aspirations of the university community.
During the event, faculty and student representatives raised suggestions and voiced concerns regarding access through the North Campus gate, inter-campus commuting between the North and South Campuses, internship resources through university-enterprise collaboration, public study facilities, sports venues and facilities, and campus living services. They shared various issues encountered in their academic, work, and daily lives. Liao listened attentively to their suggestions, taking detailed notes and engaging in interactive discussions with the representatives from time to time. He instructed relevant departments to keep the appeals of faculty and students in mind and proactively promote the resolution of their problems. Heads of functional departments responded to and addressed the suggestions on the spot, pledging to actively advance rectifications and strive to create better environments and conditions for the university community.
Following the meeting, Liao and his delegation conducted an on-site inspection of areas including the North Gate of the North Campus and campus roads, where he further offered guiding opinions on campus safety management and infrastructure maintenance.
