Chief Leaders Sit Down with Classes and Dorms
2026-06-13
Recently, Liao Zhikun, Secretary of the CPC HUTB Committee, and Hou Junjun, Deputy Secretary of the CPC HUTB Committee and President, separately went into their own linked classes to hold face-to-face symposiums with student representatives—listening to their voices, answering their doubts, and offering advice for growth. Heads of the relevant schools accompanied them during the activities.
At Conference Room 401 in No.2 Office Building, Liao Zhikun held a symposium with students of Journalism Class 2301 from the School of Literature and Digital Communication. He listened carefully to their reflections since enrollment on ideological growth, coursework, and campus life, and probed into their day-to-day study habits and practical difficulties. Anchoring his remarks to the talent profile required of journalism and communication majors in the intelligent era, he encouraged the students to lock onto their core direction, sharpen news sensitivity, cultivate critical thinking, and build an irreplaceable competitive edge. He responded seriously to the issues and requests raised, and asked the school to stay attuned to student needs and deliver caring, well-run support services. After the symposium, Liao went to Block 11 of Xiande Student Apartments to inspect the premises. He checked room cleanliness, basic fixtures, and asked about dormitory life, daily routines, and after-class activities. He reminded the students to keep their rooms tidy and hygienic, stay alert to safety risks, and collectively maintain a civilized, welcoming living space.
At Room 2206 of Boxue Building on the North Campus, Hou Junjun held a symposium with students of Digital-Intelligence Trade Class 2502. Students spoke freely on employment prospects and career planning, deeper development of professional competence, and sensible academic scheduling, candidly sharing their confusion and reflections in study. Hou listened to each speaker and answered their questions one by one, drawing on his own student experience and years of talent-development practice. He encouraged the students to treasure their university years, keep strengthening their English, professional literacy and all-round capabilities, fold personal growth into the broader push to build a stronger nation, and grow into high-caliber talents who meet the demands of the times. After the symposium, Hou visited student dormitories to offer regards and led a special-field research at the North Campus.
