Zuo Qing, First-Level Inspector of the Department of Education of Hunan Province, presided over the meeting. Liao Xiangyue, Deputy Secretary of the CPC HUTB Committee and President of HUTB, made an exchange speech as a representative of higher education institutions.

Director Xia Zhiliun emphasized the need to fully leverage the leadership role of the "Alumni Return to Hunan" working groups at all levels, coordinating the alignment of industry, talent, and projects, clarifying responsibilities, strengthening incentives and guidance, and ensuring that all units and departments take responsibility and focus on implementation. He also highlighted the importance of making full use of the "Alumni Return to Hunan" big data service platform, keeping policy information updated, providing precise matching and follow-up services, and ensuring that alumni's needs, difficulties, and development are promptly addressed.

Xia Zhiliun pointed out that efforts should be made to proactively visit important provinces and cities to connect with and visit alumni, promote the "Alumni Return to Hunan" policies and resources, and attract alumni to return to Hunan for entrepreneurship and development. He emphasized that we should both help alumni "go out" and actively "invite them in" by encouraging them to come back to visit Hunan, their alma mater, and their hometowns. This includes inviting them to visit major projects, significant engineering works, and important bases or parks, letting them experience the pulse of Hunan's development, and strengthening their confidence and determination to advance Hunan's growth together.

At the event, the "Alumni Return to Hunan" big data service platform was officially launched. The meeting emphasized the need to introduce more targeted and high-value policies, establish trade and economic activity platforms for attracting investment, technology, and talent, and create a top-notch business environment. This aims to provide the best services for the return of industries, capital, projects, talent, and headquarters.

At the meeting, President Liao Xiangyue, Deputy Secretary of the CPC HUTB Committee, spoke as a representative of higher education institutions. He shared the approaches and achievements of our university in the "Alumni Return to Hunan" initiative.

President Liao Xiangyue provided a comprehensive summary and promotion of the university's "Alumni Return to Hunan" work from three aspects: building a solid "foundation" ,making strategic moves, and implementing a "combined approach." Since the launch of the "Alumni Return to Hunan" initiative, CPC HUTB Committee has placed great importance on it. Academician Chen Xiaohong, Secretary of the CPC HUTB Committee, has served as the head of the "Alumni Return to Hunan" task force, chairing multiple special meetings and visiting alumni in cities such as Shenzhen for discussions and exchanges. The university combines "going out" with "inviting in," leveraging the resource aggregation of the Xiangjiang Laboratory to attract alumni enterprises for joint projects. By utilizing the power of alumni associations nationwide, it broadly promotes the "Alumni Return to Hunan" initiative, guiding alumni entrepreneurs to stay connected with their alma mater, focus on Changsha, and contribute to Hunan. This effort has led to the establishment of many outstanding alumni enterprises and advanced technologies in Hunan, with total investment in the region exceeding RMB5 billion to date.

In recent years, the university has formed an alumni entrepreneur association to enhance the synergy between the university and its alumni, contributing to national and Hunan’s high-quality development. We established the "HUTB Innovation and Entrepreneurship Fund," with an initial investment of RMB5 million to support the conversion of scientific achievements and innovation activities by faculty, students, and alumni, empowering alumni enterprises. We have hosted over 200 Lushan Lectures and Lushan Entrepreneur Forums, inviting outstanding alumni to share their successful experiences and strengthen alumni connections.
