HUTB Faculty and Staff Table Tennis Team Wins Mixed Team Championship at Hunan "Public Servant Cup" Table Tennis Tournament

From May 25 to 26, the 9th Hunan "Public Servant Cup" Table Tennis Tournament was held in Nan County, Yiyang City. Organized by the Hunan Sports Bureau, the competition brought together over 500 players from 47 provincial-level units and enterprises across the province, showcasing a grand event for the national sport. Under the high attention of the CPC HUTB Committee, our faculty and staff table tennis team actively prepared for the competition. They sent a strong lineup consisting of Chen Jia and 8 other players, with Liu Guoquan, Member of the CPC HUTB Committee and Vice President of HUTB, as the coach, and Yi Mianyang, Deputy Secretary of the CPC HUTB Committee, as the team leader.

During the competition, our team quickly found their rhythm, adopting a mindset of "battling from the start." They fought hard, aiming to excel in every match, and advanced to the second stage by topping the group. In the semifinals, facing the strong Hunan Publishing Investment Holding Group Co., Ltd. team, our players remained fearless and composed, demonstrating HUTB's sports spirit in their strategy and every point contested, steadily progressing into the finals.

In the finals, our team showcased brilliant strategic planning, firm self-directed tactics, and a fighting spirit in every point. With smooth and stable shots, they demonstrated solid technical skills. Ultimately, they defeated their opponents with an overwhelming 3:0 score, reclaiming the provincial championship trophy and bringing further honor to the university.

With the great attention and support from the CPC HUTB Committee, the faculty and staff table tennis team has consistently demonstrated strong power in provincial table tennis competitions since its establishment, establishing the reputation of "Sports HUTB." (Reported by Labour Union and Liu Sha from the School of Physical Education and Health)
