School of Tourism Management Held Symposium to Create Positive Learning Atmosphere

On April 7th afternoon, School of Tourism Management held a meeting to create positive learning atmosphere. Party secretary Gao Shougui, deputy secretary Guo Yihong, deputy dean He Tianxiang attended the meeting. Warned students, their tutors, headteachers, and parents participated in the discussion.

During 2-hour discussion, headteachers and tutors introduced students’ basic information and study conditions one by one, made in-depth discussions on such issues as “mental indolence”, “credit recovery”, “ absence from or lateness for class”, “credit warning”, “part-time job” and put forward the improvement measures as follows: to correct students’ study attitude, to ensure students’ attendance in class, to strengthen the education of discipline and self-discipline, to stimulate their learning enthusiasm, to implement tutor system for real in order to make students feel teacher’s care and guidance, to help students solve problem. After the symposium, parents exchanged views with tutors and headteachers freely covering various aspects, aiming to cooperate and solve students’ learning problems from all angles.

The symposium strengthened the communication between students, teachers and parents, making the direction of creating positive learning atmosphere more clear. Parents’ direct participation in educating and managing students would become an important way to create positive learning atmosphere in School of Tourism Management.
