“After Mini Three Links and Three Direct Links, the core of three cultural links has become solid bridge of people’s will across the Taiwan Straits.” In the past few days, ZHANG Jingyu, director of Taiwan-Chinese Hunan Cultural Development Association and director of Taiwan Chinese Trade, Investment, Culture and Education Association across the Taiwan Straits, was invited to attend the Yuelu Auditorium held by Hunan University of Commerce. He spoke glowingly of solutions to linking will of the people on development across the Straits in Lingnan Lecture Hall.

ZHANG Jingyu pointed out that “situations across the Straits” was tortuous, diverse and complex, but had the same root. “Barriers” across the Straits lie in history, practice and other reasons. In terms of this, ZHANG Jingyu put forward the “3I solution”, namely, Ideas, Interest, and Institution.

ZHANG Jingyu also said that people across the Straits should establish correct concepts, live with good intentions and pursue maximum consensus. Formal and effective dialogues should be carried on to face barriers across the Straits in a practical manner. Mutual cooperation in agriculture, medicine, culture, education and environmental protection could enrich people’s lives, and further utilize limited resources to constructive fields.

Meanwhile, he emphasized that it is important to enhance the “three culture links of culture, information and thoughts”, and more critical to accomplish interflows of values and emotions across the Straits.

In the subsequent speech, ZHANG Jingyu interpreted the cross-straits relations from cultural perspectives of integration of belief systems and from philosophic perspectives of blood, material and culture relations. At the same time, he mentioned that “Cultural relations are the concentration of spirits and culture. Speculative minds of human beings determine that national civilization is generated from knowledge and culture. People across the Taiwan Straits uphold the same dream and pursue the same belief.”

In the end of the speech, ZHANG Jingyu interacted with students, pointing out correct cognitive attitudes across the Straits, and expressing his confidence in relentless development of cross-straits relations. He looked forward to the ultimate integration of China and irreversible harmony through mutual efforts of cultural, emotional communications. The Auditorium came to a successful close on the night of June 3rd.
