On the morning of September 2, Liao Zhikun, Secretary of the CPC HUTB Committee, and Hou Junjun, Deputy Secretary of the CPC HUTB Committee and President, led separate teams to inspect the university's operational readiness and campus safety for the Fall 2026 semester start. All on-campus Chief Leaders, members of the CPC HUTB Committee, along with leaders of relevant functional departments and secondary schools, participated in the inspections.

Liao led a team to inspect the Moon Island Campus and the North Campus. At the Moon Island Campus, the inspection team examined on-site the campus access routes, student apartments, the comprehensive office building, cafeterias, classrooms, computer labs, and other educational facilities. An on-site work meeting was convened to arrange and deploy the next-phase work. The meeting required adhering to a broad vision and overarching perspective, anchoring the university's educational positioning, adapting to the cutting-edge trends of modern education, attending to details, holding firm to bottom-line safeguards, and elevating quality—so as to build the Moon Island Campus into a compact, first-rate campus that is "small yet beautiful and small yet refined." At the North Campus, the inspection team examined on-site the student apartments, cafeterias, dormitories, teaching buildings, roads, and other campus facilities. They required that the outstanding tasks be wrapped up as soon as possible, campus culture building be strengthened, and all semester start preparations proceed on schedule and smoothly.

Hou led another team to inspect the South Campus. The inspection team successively visited on-site educational venues including student cafeterias, student apartments, teaching buildings, sports facilities, academies, the Technology Building, and campus roads. At the student cafeteria, the team focused on key nodes such as purchase inspection, quality testing, inventory turnover, and shelf-life control. Hou stressed the need to strengthen food safety management and provide quality catering services. At the Lingnan connecting road, the team inquired about construction progress, quality control, and safety management. Hou required the contractor to scientifically optimize the construction organization, ensuring the project is completed on schedule and to high quality, so that it can benefit the travel of faculty and students at an early date. At the Technology Building, the team gained a detailed understanding of laboratory equipment management, experimental course instruction, and laboratory development.

The Chief Leaders gave positive feedback on the overall readiness of operational conditions and campus safety for the Fall 2026 semester start, and offered further guidance on campus environment building, infrastructure maintenance and renovation, laboratory development, campus culture building, food safety, and fire safety. They required all functional departments to earnestly implement the development goals set forth at the university's Second CPC Congress, firmly foster and practice a correct view of governance performance, and deliver a solid "second half" of the inspection rectification work. They emphasized the need to care for the learning and growth of faculty and students, and effectively address the pressing concerns of faculty and students, so as to lay a solid foundation for accelerating the building of a high-quality, distinctive, and high-level application-oriented university of business and commerce. With full enthusiasm and in good shape, the university will welcome returning students and incoming freshmen to campus.
