On the morning of August 31, a Hungarian delegation visited HUTB and held a symposium at Conference Room 406 of the No. 2 Office Building.

The visiting delegation comprised experts, scholars, and young student representatives from Pázmány Péter Catholic University, Corvinus University of Budapest, and the Institute of Foreign Affairs of Hungary. Attending the symposium were Zhou Huaiguo, Director and first-rank researcher of the International Communication and Policy Research Division of the Office of Foreign Affairs Commission of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, and Liu Xujun, first-rank chief clerk of the European Affairs Division. Xu Shu, a member of the CPC HUTB Committee and Vice President of HUTB, attended the event. The symposium was presided over by Wang Ren, Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office.

Xu Shu delivered a welcome speech. She extended a warm welcome to the Hungarian delegation for traveling from afar, and expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Office of Foreign Affairs Commission of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee for its long-term care and support for the university's external exchanges and cooperation. She reviewed the recent achievements in exchanges and cooperation between the university and Hungarian universities, hoping that taking this symposium as an opportunity, both sides will continuously enhance mutual understanding and friendship between the youth of the two countries, and expand the space for cooperation in areas such as academic research, faculty and student exchanges, talent cultivation, and cultural and people-to-people exchanges.

Professor Xiang Guocheng from the School of Economy & Trade delivered a report titled The Hunan Chapter of Chinese Modernization. He shared the current state of Hunan's economic and social development, the outlook for the 15th Five-Year Plan period, and how the university's disciplines serve the beautiful blueprint of the "Three Highlands, Four New Missions" strategy, providing the Hungarian delegation with a reference for gaining an in-depth understanding of Hunan and the university's development. Representatives of the Hungarian delegation took turns speaking, expressing their hope to strengthen academic exchanges with HUTB, build channels for faculty and student exchanges, conduct joint research, and promote mutual learning and people-to-people exchanges between China and Hungary.

Zhou Huaiguo addressed the meeting, briefing on Hunan's opening-up and external cultural and people-to-people exchanges. He expressed hope to continuously deepen engagement with Hungarian universities and research institutions, and promote regular exchanges and cooperation in the cultural and people-to-people fields between the two countries.
