Chen Xiaohong, CAE Academician and HUTB Party Secretary, Participates in “Science-Innovation Integration” Summit and Delivers Keynote Speech

From August 18 to 20, the 2022 Annual Meeting of the Branch of Innovative and Entrepreneurial Education of China Association of Higher Education (hereinafter referred to as the IEEC) & “Science-Innovation Integration” Summit was held in Nanjing. The meeting was co-hosted by the IEEC and Nanjing University and organized by Nanjing University, with the online + offline mode. More than 500 leaders and expert scholars from 475 colleges around the country participated in person in the meeting. More than 60000 people participated online in the meeting.
Li Jiajun, Vice President of the China Association of Higher Education and the former Party Secretary of Tianjin University, Hong Yinxing, the former Party Secretary of Nanjing University, Yang Shubing, Deputy Director of the Jiangsu Education Department, Yang Zhong, Executive Deputy Secretary of CPC Committee of Nanjing University, Chen Xiaohong, CAE Academician and HUTB Party Secretary, Zhu Shining, CAS Academician and professor of Nanjing University, and Liu Qing, Director of the Yangtze River Delta National Technology Innovation Center attended the summit.
At the main forum, Academician Chen Xiaohong delivered a keynote speech titled “Technological Innovation and Talent Training in the Digital Economy Era”. She pointed out that digital economy has become a new important engine for the national economic growth; digital economy and new-generation information technology speed up talent transformation; the continuous creation of new business forms and new patterns advances continuous changes in traditional occupations; the wide application of informatization gives birth to new jobs and occupations. In the speech, she analyzed the opportunities and challenges facing the development of digital economy, introduced the scenarios where digital technologies empower the industrial transformation and application innovation and are deeply integrated into the real economy, shared the path exploration for inter-disciplinary talent training in the digital economy era, and elaborated on HUTB’s commitment to practicing the philosophy of the integrated development of “new engineering + new business + new liberal arts” and science, and explored the practice and experience of sci-tech talent training in the digital economy era.
During the summit, 12 parallel forums were held simultaneously, namely, the “Four New Missions” and innovation and entrepreneurship education forum, the first-class innovation and entrepreneurship college dean forum, the entrepreneurship management undergraduate major construction forum, the innovation and entrepreneurship education virtual teaching and research section construction forum, the vocational college innovation and entrepreneurship education forum, the social entrepreneurship education forum, the innovation and entrepreneurship competition-education integration forum, the innovation and entrepreneurship industry-education integration forum, the innovation and entrepreneurship university-local government cooperation forum, the innovation and entrepreneurship university-enterprise cooperation forum, the innovation and entrepreneurship enterprise incubation forum, and the entrepreneurship-driven employment forum. Hao Qingjie, Xu Fei, Yang Aihua, Li Kaiyi, Li Dong, Zhang Jianjun, Gao Xinfang, et al., addressed the forums.
Under the theme of “Science-Innovation Integration”, the parallel forums focus on the core issues in the reform and development of innovation and entrepreneurship education. In the forums, expert scholars from different fields shared their brilliant ideas, and held in-depth discussions and exchanges.
