Students of HUTB Achieve Good Results in the Hunan Division of the 13th National Mathematics Competition for College Students

Recently, according to the Evaluation Results of the 13th National Mathematics Competition of College Students and Mathematics Competition of Hunan College Students 2021 issued by the Department of Education of Hunan Province, in the Hunan Division Competition, HUTB won 5 first prizes, 4 second prizes and 3 third prizes at professional mathematics group; 8 first prizes, 24 second prizes and 22 third prizes at public mathematics group. The number and level of awards are among the top universities in the province, and the achievements have reached a new high in the history of discipline competition in HUTB, making new contributions to the realization of the strategic goal of "Three Upgrades and Three Highlands" and the construction goal of "double first-class" during the 14th Five-Year Plan period.
HUTB attaches great importance to the quality of personnel training, aiming at the training of outstanding and top-notch talents, and vigorously promotes the discipline competition. Adhering to the education philosophy of the integration of “new engineering courses + new business courses + new liberal arts courses" with the science courses, the College of Science has carried out the discipline competitions in a down-to-earth manner through the working mechanism of promoting learning, teaching, examination by competition and making competition and learning complementing with each other. Organizing Committee of Mathematics Competition of the College organizes the most capable teaching team, which pays attention to the knowledge base in daily teaching, strengthens the thinking ability in summer training, improves the methods and skills in sprinting before the competition, makes overall arrangements for the whole process, prepares the precise policies, provides the guidance by classification, and pays close attention to implementation. Mathematics learning interest classes are set up in the North and South campuses respectively to conduct the pre-competition counseling and training on holidays and weekends, the tutor started the "three-combination" mode of discipline competition counseling, i.e. "combining online answering questions with offline counseling, combining fixed time & fixed point with anytime and anywhere, combining centralized teaching with individual counseling", and made every effort to create the brand activity of "Party members pairing to help discipline competition", which achieved remarkable results.
In recent years, the students participating in the National Mathematics Competition for College Students were up to 1,000 every year, and the enthusiasm of students participating in the competition is very high, which has formed a strong mathematics learning atmosphere throughout the campus. The mathematics competition of college students has made the students of HUBT emerge in the whole country and the whole province, laid a solid mathematical foundation for students to continue their studies, and made positive contributions to improving the quality of personnel training and enhancing the reputation of education.
