Secretary Tang Yayang Gives Course of Situations and Policies to Students

In the afternoon of November3, Secretary Tang Yayang gavethe course of Situations and Policies titled In-depth Learning of Important Statement and Spirit on Education Made by General Secretary Xi Jinpingin the lecturehall of the comprehensive business building. Students majoring in Financial Management in Class 1802, students majoring in Accounting in Class 1803-6 and faculty representatives from School ofAccounting, leaders of teaching workof School of Marxism Studies and situation and policy teachingand research office listened to the lecture.


Mr. Tang pointed out that, since the 18thNational Congress of the Communist Party of China, General Secretary Xi Jinxing has paid sufficient attention to education, made a series of important speeches, defineddirections and requirements and reinforced measures for the development of the educationalundertaking in order to lay a solid talent and knowledge foundation for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.Firstly, he conductedcomprehensive and systematic review of and introduction to General Secretary Xi’s important statements on education on the levels of basic education, vocation education and higher education, and from perspectives of ideologicaland political teacher seminars, important documents and policies onideological and political education, important speeches made by General Secretary during his stay in Hunan and on expert representative seminars in the fields of education, culture, health and physical education.
Then, Mr. Tang introduced the times backgroundwhen General Secretary Xi Jinping made important statements on education from the three aspects of new educational opportunities arising from the greatdevelopment, great revolution and great convergence of the world, new requirements of education from the new era, and entry into the new era of the development of China’s higher education, detailedthe “nine perseverance” in education presented by General Secretary Xi Jinping, namely, perseverance in the Party’s overallleadership of the education undertaking, perseverance in moral education as the fundamentaltask,perseverance in priority to the development of the education undertaking, perseverance in socialist educationalorientation, perseverance in running educationrooteddeeply in China, perseverance in people-centered development ofeducation, perseverance in deepeningeducationreform and innovation, perseverancein the important mission of education to serve the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, and perseverance in teacherteam construction as the fundamental work, further interpretedGeneral Secretary’s statements on education from adolescent education, teachers’ morality and styles, povertyalleviation by education, education modernization, educationopening-up, education in Hong Kong and Macau under the context of “one countryand two systems”,and proposed specific measuresto implement the spirit of important speeches on education made by General Secretary Xi Jinping in the new era.
Lastly, Mr. Tang emphasized that education isamajor national and Party’s plan, and an important cornerstoneof national rejuvenation and social progress. He, by quoting the tree theory, hoped the students to grow like a tree, possess the five qualities of “be positive”, “be straight”, “be deep-rooted”, “be steadfast” and “standthe test”, grow into “luxuriant trees” as soon as possible, and serve the country and society with their wisdom and excellent capacities.
