HUTB Holds Administrative Work Promotion Meeting

On the morning of October 9, 2020, Hunan University of Technology and Business (HUTB)held the administrative work promotion meeting for the second half year of 2020 in Conference Room 206of the Technology Building. President Chen Xiaohong (an academician of the Chinese Academy Engineering (CAE)), Vice Presidents Peng Jinqing, Zeng Fuqiu, Li Dingjun and Liu Guoquan, and the senior leader Nie Guoqing were present at the meeting. Staff members in charge of administrative work from secondary organizations attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Vice President Peng Jinqing.
At the meeting, staff members in charge of administrative work from secondary organizations submitted the Annual Goal Management Plan2020 to President Chen.
Then, the personsin charge of administrative work from the Graduate School, “Three-upgrade Strategy” Office, Academic Affairs Division, Scientific Research Administration Division, PersonnelDivision, Student Affairs Division, Capital Construction Division, Logistics Service Division, North Campus Management Committee, etc., reported prioritiesinthecurrent and subsequent periods respectively.
Vice President Peng put forward specific requirements ontalent introduction, performance-basedsalary management, etc. Vice President Zeng maderequests to energetically promote the application for being authorized to confer doctoral degrees, and focuson the construction of study style in terms of student management. Vice President Li Dingjjun madespecific arrangements of financial payment and budget investigation, participation in and support of the application for being authorized to confer doctoral degrees, etc. Vice President Liu Guoquan highlighted the construction of national-level first-class specialties,teaching infrastructure, etc. The seniorleader Nie Guoqing introduced academic resources and service availablein libraries, academic journal construction, etc.
President Chen Xiaohong, after listening to thosework reports, praised them fortheir work achievements and plans, encouraged them to comprehensively summarize successful experience from the previous work, focuson the current and subsequent priorities, and to be more enterprising in makingnew greater breakthroughs in university development.She emphasized that HUTB would remain the application for being authorized to confer doctoral degreesas atop priority fromnow on, concentrate on thisformidable task, and be responsiblefor the university, the history and the future. It is necessary for HUTBto appropriately preparethe 14thFive-year Plan, and thoroughly comprehend and implement General Secretary Xi’s important instructions regarding the 14thFive-year” Plan preparation. It is also necessary to make more efforts to build HUTB into a first-rate university with first-rate disciplinesand better laboratories,and to promote the disciplineand laboratory development to a higher level. It is essential to organize well the applicationand refiningof national-level projects and striveforsurging to new highs in national-level project applicationand approval. It is necessary to moveforward reforms of the title review system, insist on the assessment based on respective achievements, rather than on papers, status, titles, academic degrees and awards. It is necessary to deal with the degree programevaluation carefully and well, deeplyrealize the important significance of evaluation, and promotebetter achievements in degree program evaluation. It is necessary to actively introducehigh-caliber talents, and particularly strengthenintroduction of academic pacemakers and leading talents. It is necessary to continue doing a good job in epidemic prevention and control and strictly prevent winterinfections fromspreading.
