HUTB Holds Symposium with Newly Recruited Teachers to Celebrate the 36th Teacher's Day

As the 36thTeacher’s Day was approaching, Hunan University of Technology and Business (HUTB) held a symposiumthemed “Responsibly Striving for Talent Cultivation and Poverty Alleviationthrough Education” in Fandeng Bookbar within Chufeng Bookbar of Economic Management Complex on the afternoon of September 8. The symposium was attended by Tang Yayang, Secretary of HUTB Party Committee, Chen Ming, a member of HUTB Party Committee and Director of Publicity Department, leaders of the Personnel Division, the Academic Affairs Division, the Labor Union and other departments as well as over 30 representatives of newly recruited teachers (full-time teachers, counselors, management personnel). Li Ge, Director of the Personnel Division, presided over the meeting.

At the symposium, the representatives of the newly recruited teachers introduced themselves one by one. They shared their experience in study, job search, and work as well as their understandings of teaching, scientific research, ideological and political education, and student education management. They freely talked about their thoughts and feelings about joining HUTB, and they expressed sincere thanks for HUTB’s meticulous and considerate care and love. They all indicated that they will quickly act as professional teachers, well assume the due missions and duties, and earnestly complete the work of teaching, scientific research, management, services, etc, to contribute to HUTB’s development and students’ growth.
Subsequently, relevant department leaders present welcomed and blessed the newly recruited teachers. The leaders respectively introduced the responsibilities of their own departments as well as the services they could provide for these teachers’ work, study, living, and other aspects. These department leaders expressed that they will fully support and guarantee the newly recruited teachers’ growth.

On behalf of HUTB Party Committee, Party Secretary Tang Yayang extended Teacher’s Day greetings and blessings as well as welcome to all teachers newly joining HUTB. He expected them to work hard and achieve new results in their new positions. He conveyed the guiding principles of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches on teachers and the National Teacher Development Conference held on September 7, encouraging newly recruited teachers to think in big-picture terms, to act confidently, to broaden horizons, to accurately position themselves, and to review their work amid the major changes unseen in a century. Mr.Tang put forward six expectations for the newly recruited teachers. First, cherish the teaching profession by shouldering the important mission of “guides”, “engineers”, and “gardeners”, and striving to become excellent teachers with ideals and beliefs, noble morals, true talents, academic charm and personality; second, adapt to the role change by setting new self-requests for the new position at the new starting point; third, make good career plans and implement them; fourth, learn to make overall plans and coordinate teaching and scientific research, and work and life; fifth, maintain youthful vitality by developing healthy personal hobbies, constantly learning new knowledge, and regularly carrying out physical exercise; sixth, deliver positive energy in education and display teachers’ new look.
