【Lushan Lecture Hall】Prof. Zhao Shuming from NJU Gave Lectures in HUTB

On the morning of January 6, Prof. Zhao Shuming, vice-chairman of Business Administration Discipline Professional Education Guidance Committee under Ministry of Education, senior professor of humanities and social sciences and honorary dean of Business School of Nanjing University, was invited to give the No.101 lecture at Lushan Lecture Hall. The theme was “Global Talent Challenge and Chinese Enterprises Internationalized Talent Management”. The lecture was presided over by Nie Guoqing, member of the HUTB leader group.

By analyzing such phenomena as economic downturn and enterprise downsizing, Prof. Zhao Shuming pointed out that, in the era of economic globalization, information networking, knowledge socialization, population urbanization and currency electronization, the talent competition faced by enterprises is ultimately the competition of talent development and governance structure. Effective human resource management is the key to the success of global market strategy. He considers that multinational enterprises’ human resource allocation includes home country mode and localization mode. the competition challenges affecting human resources mainly include four respects, such as globalization, human resource innovation, sustainability, and talent attracting and retaining.
Prof. Zhao Shuming also put forward corresponding suggestions on attracting, cultivating, retaining and dispatching talents from four aspects: talent career development and salary, leadership development, emotional retention, career retention and salary retention, and manage virtual team ability cultivation, so as to improve the attractiveness and competitiveness of enterprises. The professor also expounded the internationalization development course of such enterprises as Midea and Haier.
At the lecture, Prof. Zhao Shuming explained the global talent challenge and the international talent management of Chinese enterprises in an easy-to-understand way, and actively interacted with the teachers and students present.
