Our University Achieved Good Results in the Comprehensive Evaluation of Undergraduate Majors of Hunan Province

Recently, the Hunan Provincial Education Department released an official document where the results of the comprehensive evaluation of nine undergraduate majors (including software engineering) of regular institutions of higher learning of Hunan Province were revealed. Six majors of our school participated in the evaluation, including the Business Management, Marketing, Financial Management, Science of Law, Electronic Information Engineering and Software Management. Wherein, two undergraduate majors of Marketing and Science of Law were rated as Class-A undergraduate major, and four majors of Business Administration, Financial Management, Electronic Information Engineering and Software Management were rated as Class-B major, achieving the fine rate of 100%. Our school's fine rate ranked among top colleges and universities of the whole province.
The comprehensive evaluation for undergraduate majors of regular institutions of higher learning was the second batch of comprehensive evaluation for undergraduate majors organized by the Hunan Provincial Education Department according to the work deployment of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. Evaluation methods of combination between quantitative evaluation and qualitative evaluation, the combination between the school's basic data and data about the major evaluated and combination between online evaluation and meeting evaluation were applied. 7 categories including 15 items and 33 major indexes were involved, such as the source of students, teachers and conditions, teaching process and quality guarantee, cultivation program and mode, etc. Different scores and weighted proportions were applied to different items. The evaluation results were disclosed publicly. The activity was associated with the reputation of the school, so it was of great significance.
Our school will seriously summarize the major construction and evaluation experience, thoroughly implement the spirit of the National Education Congress and the Conference on Undergraduate Education Work of Institutes of Higher Education in the New Times, comprehensively implement national standards for teaching quality of undergraduate majors and actively promote construction of major connotation by taking comprehensive evaluation of majors as the opportunity and construction of the first-class majors and first-class courses and cultivation of first-class talents as the objectives to make positive contributions to building our school into a high-level business school with unique characteristics.
