Our University Held a Symposium to Celebrate the 35th Teachers' Day

In the afternoon of Sep. 9, the university held a symposium in the conference room on the second floor of Smart Innovation Space to warmly celebrate the 35thTeachers' Day. Tang Yayang, Secretary of the Party Committee of the University, and Liu Siwei, a first-class Honorary Professor, attended. Heads of Personnel Department and other relevant departments, as well as 15 teacher representatives also attended. The symposium was presided over by Li Ge, Director-general of the Personnel Department.
The theme of the symposium was "Celebrating the 70thAnniversary of New China and Carrying Forward the Fashion of Respecting Teachers in the New Era". Participating teacher representatives first briefly introduced their learning and working experience, and the joy of growing up and progressing together with the university.
In the teacher representative speech link, Professor Liu Siwei reviewed his own teaching experience and shared his experience in teaching and educating people. He has been sticking to the teaching and scientific research for decades, and the identity of "teacher" has been integrated into the blood, which constitutes the bottom color of life. He said that the majority of teachers should be awed by the profession of teacher, cultivate the teacher's ethics, and be good teachers with ideals and beliefs, moral sentiments, solid knowledge and heart of benevolence. We should keep enthusiasm and passion at all times, stand firm and live up to the podium, and repay the society, times and students with a sincere heart.
Later, Mo Xiangyi shared the experience of carrying out scientific research, teaching and research activities, and believed that it was necessary to "maintain self-confidence and work with perseverance". Deng Xin and Wu Weiping, the new teacher representatives, spoke freely about their sense of responsibility and honor when they joined Hunan University of Technology and Business, and expressed that they should study modestly, work hard and pursue the noblest happiness of "learning to be a teacher and acting as an exemplary person". Xia Ruixia, a counselor representative, introduced her own growth process and said that teachers should continue to innovate, educate and guide students in a popular way.
Secretary Tang concluded at the symposium, expressing congratulations and greetings to all teachers of the university. He said that students are the main body of education and teachers are the main body of the school running. Teachers are the first resource and precious wealth of the university development. We should create a good atmosphere of caring for, loving and respecting teachers in the whole university. Guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, we should guide teachers to be models of socialist morality, leaders of good faith and defenders of fairness and justice.
He stressed that to build a high-level business university, a large number of outstanding teachers need to stand out and devote themselves to their work. He hoped that all teachers should be the models and leaders who unify teaching and education, words and deeds, great concentration and close attention to society, as well as academic freedom and norms, implement the "three-improvement" strategy, help the "Double First-rate" construction, keep innovation and hard entrepreneurship, and make new and greater contributions to the improvement of the university.
Finally, all participants sang Song of Our Homelandto celebrate the 70thanniversary of the People's Republic of China.
