Degree Management and Graduate Education Department of Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China Come to Our University to Conduct the Special Research

On Aug. 27, Xu Weiqing, Deputy Director-general of the Degree Management and Graduate Education Department of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, and other two persons visited our university to investigate the degree authorization and discipline construction, focusing on Collaborative Innovation center of Anti-corruption and anti-corruption discipline construction of Hunan University of Technology and Business. Deputy Director-general Xu Weiqing and his delegation visited the "exhibition of Sino-foreign clean governance", and held a discussion in the conference room on the second floor of the Center of Anti-corruption on the issues of degree authorization review, discipline and major construction and promotion of the construction of new disciplines in the new era. Tang Yawu, Deputy Director-general of Provincial Education Department, Ge Hongyuan, President of Provincial Chinese Incorruptible Culture Research Association, and former Vice Chairman of Provincial Political Consultative Conference, Fu Xuejian, Honorary President of Provincial Chinese Incorruptible Culture Research Association, President & Academician Chen Xiaohong, Vice President Zeng Fuqiu, Wang Minggao, Chief Expert of Provincial Collaborative Innovation center of Anti-corruption, and Chen Liying, Director of Provincial Clean Government Construction Research Base attended. Relevant departments of Provincial Education Department and heads of Graduate School, "Three-improvement Office" and Collaborative Innovation center of Anti-corruption also attended. The symposium was presided over by Luan Zongtao, Director-general of the Degree Management Office of the Degree Management and Graduate Education Department of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China.
President & Academician Chen Xiaohong on behalf of the university extended a warm welcome to the research team and sincerely thanked the Degree Management and Graduate Education Department of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China for its long-term care and support. She pointed out that the survey would have an important guiding significance for the construction and development of university degree programs and disciplines. As a growing university, the university needs to further improve in many aspects, but some characteristic disciplines represented by anti-corruption have reached the national advanced level. She hoped that the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China would support and care more about the discipline and major construction of local universities. Vice President Zeng Fuqiu introduced the degree program and discipline construction of the university, and Senior Professor Wang Minggao reported the construction of Collaborative Innovation center of Anti-corruption, and emphatically introduced the development and prospect of anti-corruption discipline construction of our university.
Honorary President Fu Xuejian believed that incorruption education was very important in one's life. Anti-corruption work and incorruption education needed the development of anti-corruption discipline construction. President Ge Hongyuan believed that anti-corruption discipline was a characteristic and advantageous discipline of Hunan University of Technology and Business. From the perspective of discipline development, it should have the depth of history, the reality of research and practice of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the strong ductility and foresight. It is of great significance to do a good job in the anti-corruption discipline in dealing with the current important humanities and social sciences research, such as the relationship between politics and commerce, etc.
Deputy Director-general Xu Weiqing introduced the main purpose of the survey. On the one hand, he was entrusted by the leaders to understand the degree authorization review and discipline construction of Hunan University of Technology and Business. On the other hand, he conducted in-depth research on the development of the anti-corruption discipline construction. He emphatically introduced the spirit of the central government to accelerate the construction of disciplines and professional systems with Chinese characteristics, and stressed that after entering the new era, the discipline and professional system did not copy other models any more, but should reflect Chinese characteristics, culture and value on the basis of inclusiveness and mutual accommodation. As the basic support system of higher education, the construction of discipline and professional system has undertaken a major task, which must meet the needs of economic and social development; the discipline construction should have wide applicable scope, mature system and deep foundation in knowledge classification; the major construction should reflect the demand of social development for talents and be more flexible. With the support of President & Academician Chen Xiaohong, Hunan University of Technology and Business has made good achievements in the theoretical research and condition construction of the anti-corruption construction, which is better than famous universities such as Peking University and Tsinghua University in many aspects.
