The University Held Meeting to Study and Convey Spirit of Working Conference on National Undergraduate Education and Teaching Work Conference in New Term

In order to implement the spirit of Working Conference on Undergraduate Education of Colleges and Universities in New Era, on the afternoon of Sep. 17, in the 401 Conference Room of Office Building 2, the University held the meeting to study and convey the spirit of the working conference on national undergraduate education and teaching work conference in the new term. Vice President Liu Guoquan attended the meeting, and vice deans in teaching of secondary colleges (departments) and relevant personnel of Office of Academic Affairs participated in the conference. The conference was presided over by Liu Daobo, Director of Office of Academic Affairs.

Director Liu Daobo arranged the important teaching work of this term. Deputy Director Yang Shuigen conveyed the spirit of the working conference on undergraduate education of colleges and universities in new era. Deputy Director Yang Gang, Tan Zhijun and Yang Shuigen separately reported the work in charge, and arranged the important work to be conducted in the near future.

Vice President Liu Guoquan made a summary speech and put forward two requirements: First, it is necessary to take the spirit of working conference on undergraduate education of colleges and universities in new era as a guide, increase teaching reform, pay close attention to talent cultivation, and strengthen undergraduate education. Talent cultivation is the first task of colleges and universities. All colleges must coordinate with the three-year action plan of the University, set up benchmarks, and cultivate their own brand teachers, brand courses, and brand projects. In accordance with the requirements of the Ministry of Education that "professors who are not involved in the undergraduate education are not qualified professors", the teaching indicators are included into the teachers' professional title appraisal, and attention is paid to establishing excellent teaching staff. Second, by taking the undergraduate teaching review and evaluation as an opportunity, it is necessary to consolidate the foundations of teaching construction. Office of Academic Affairs shall provide more institutional support and policy support for the secondary colleges to build a central position of the undergraduate talent cultivation.
