Professor Ji Shuihe, the National Distinguished Teacher, Was Employed by Our University to Serve as ” Lushan Scholar ”

At 3:00 p.m. on December 30, the " Lushan Scholar " Awarding Ceremony was held in No. 502 meeting room in the 2nd Office Building, together with Special Conference about Discipline Construction and Scientific Research Work in School of Literature and Journalism. Professor Ji Shuihe, the national-level Distinguished Teacher and the doctoral supervisor of Xiangtan University, was awarded as the "Lushan Scholar " in our university. President Chen Xiaohong, Professor Yang Hong, the key discipline leader of Chinese Language and Literature, as well as major leaders of Department of Personnel, Scientific Research, and so on attended the conference. Zheng Jiaming, dean of School of Literature and Journalism, presided over the conference.
President Chen Xiaohong issued the "Lushan Scholar" appointment to Ji Shuihe, and extended her warm welcome to him. She praised the practice of introducing talents and strengthening the discipline team construction of School of Literature and Journalism, and encouraged this School to strike for further achievements in the aspect of discipline construction during the "13th Five-year Plan" period.
Professor Peng Wenzhong, executive vice dean of School of Literature and Journalism, introduced the scientific research platform construction conditions, and plans for the discipline construction and scientific research during the "13th Five-year Plan" period. Professor Yang Hong, key discipline leader of Chinese Language and Literature applied "recurrence", "opportunity" and "small target" as key words to hope that all faculty in the School can return to their initial heart and grasp the opportunity, set up small tasks to march towards the higher target from the college-level research subjects declaration.
The School of Literature and Journalism had taken a series of specific measures to reinforce the scientific research work, and carried out incentive, constraint and service mechanism in parallel, therein, raise funds to support the research. Professor Ouyang Zisheng, director of Scientific Research Office, fully affirmed the practices of changing the pressure into power, and making efforts to promote the scientific research work of School of Literature and Journalism, and he hoped that this School can achieve new progress in the scientific research work.
The "three strategies of development" was the strategic decision of our university to realize the leap-over development. The employment of professor Ji Shuihe, the discipline construction and scientific research working conference were considered as a symbol for School of Literature and Journalism to actively integrate in the "three improvements" and "double first-rate" construction, which also indicated that the discipline construction and scientific research work of this School could march toward a new stage.
Now, Professor Ji Shuihe, originally second-grade professor and doctoral supervisor in the School of Literature and Journalism of Xiangtan University, enjoys the special government allowance of the State Council. He once served as the dean of School of Literature and Journalism of Xiangtan University, the committee member of Hunan Key Discipline Construction Committee, the expert of Discipline Review Group of Hunan Academic Degree Committee, the committee member of Chinese Discipline Teaching Advisory Committee under Ministry of Education, the vice chairman of Hunan Federation of Humanities and Social Sciences, as well as the expert of National Social Science Funds Discipline Review Group.
