Our University Held ”151” Talent Engineering Work Forum

On the afternoon of November 9, our university held "151" talent engineering work forum at meeting room 401 of Office Building 2, and summarized and looked back implementation situation of "151" talent engineering over the past year. University leaders Tang Yayang, Chen Xiaohong, Xia Jichun, Peng Jinqing and first grade honorary professor Liu Siwei attended the forum. Candidates of "151" talent engineering attended the forum, which was presided over by vice-president Peng Jinqing.
At the forum, candidates at all levels exchanged teaching and scientific research situation over the past year and work plan for the future two years and proposed many constructive suggestions on implementation of "151" talent engineering. Everyone said that they would continuously work hard in the future teaching and scientific research work, not let people down, well play the demonstration and radiation role and make greater contribution to development of our university.
President Chen Xiaohong said that since our university implemented "151" talent engineering, the talent team construction, teaching and scientific research work had gained delectable achievements, but there was still a certain gap when compared to "three improvements" target, and everyone should make up weakness based on contrasting indexes, work hard and do all one can to catch up. She deeply analyzed the talent competition situation of colleges and universities under the "double first-class" construction background and pointed out that competition of colleges and universities was ultimately talent competition, and all colleges and universities were attracting excellent talents by various methods. Our university issued a series of personnel reform systems such as "151" talent engineering, etc. upon repeated discussion and research for the purpose of fully arousing personnel's enthusiasm and motivating talent vigor. President Chen suggested that everyone should pay more attention to high-level thesis, subject, result and team in peacetime and widely take part in high-level seminars and various international exchanges; attach important to the construction of scientific research team, encourage cooperation, hold various seminars based on being led by subject, carry out introduction and going out, strengthen cooperation and exchange, open up academic vision and form a dense academic atmosphere. She emphasized that candidates in each level of "151" talent engineering were not only academic leaders, but also university scientific research backbones and management elites, and everyone should continuously play model and leading role, aim at strategic needs of national and regional development and technological front line, be brave to climb academic peak, carry out indomitable research and make more new contribution to our university's "three improvements".
Secretary Tang Yayang highly appreciated the special contribution to our university development by candidates of "151" talent engineering. He said that loving university, devotion to your professional and dedicatory and enterprising spirit were embodied by the above candidates that were our university's valuable wealth and would have a lasting and far-reaching influence on our university. He pointed out that "151" talent engineering fell into the strategic initiative by our university based on looking at future development. Talent belonged to the most valuable resources and was the first impetus to drive our university to develop. At present, our university was in the key development period when talent demand was the most urgent and it's a must to put talent in the focal position of career development. He required the whole university should form a good atmosphere for tolerating and cherishing talents, emphasize introduction and training at the same time, respect the rule of talent growth and actively promote the culture of tolerating talents. The core for introducing talents should be placed to discipline, school and base course. He hoped that candidates of "151" talent engineering could continuously play demonstration, guidance and radiation role, intensify responsibility consciousness and undertaking consciousness, put pressure onto themselves and advance with load borne; look at the long-term benefit, form a team and echelon, and create the system and mechanism for excellent talents standing out from the crowd; closely combine our university's "the 13th Five-year Plan" and "double first-class " construction to implement the planning for talent and discipline development based on nationwide and international view. Continuously perfect selection and evaluation system of "151" talent engineering at the same time, better play the role of it and build it to a quality, demonstration and model engineering.
