Our School Held Meeting to Discuss Talent Cultivation Plan

It is of great importance in the instructional reform to revise the the plan of talent cultivation in an all-around manner and establish an applied mode of talent cultivation typical of our university. In order to fully understand the situation of the revision in the talent cultivation plan, our university held the 2016 meeting to discuss the plan of talent cultivation on June 30. The meeting was held in four different venues in accordance with characteristics of disciplines. In addition, the experts from various instructional facilities and people in relevance participated in the meeting. The vice president Liu Guoquan of our university directed and debriefed in the four venues.

In the meeting, those who take charge of different majors briefed the situation of the revision in the talent cultivation plan for their own majors. According to the requirements of The Guidance of Undergraduate Talent Training Program in 2016 and The Major Catalogue and Introduction of Regular Institutions of Higher Education issued by Ministry of Education, the school centered on the university-running orientations and carried out a serious research and demonstration of its 46 majors in light of guiding concepts of various cultivation plans, major orientations, the goals and specifications of cultivation, the arrangements of courses, the practical teaching part, the teaching process arrangements, particularly the distinguishing features of different majors and the expected effects.

After the meeting, Teaching Affairs Division concluded the different circumstances of different venues and made feedback towards the opinions and suggestions proposed by the experts. On the whole, compared with the situation during the past few years, the 2016 version of revision of talent cultivation plan improved evidently, but there were still space for further improvements. Firstly, the orientations of talent cultivation need to be further clarified. Secondly, the arrangement of courses needs to be further optimized. Thirdly, the arrangement of teaching activities needs to be further optimized. Fourthly, the texts of talent cultivation plan need to be further regulated.

The talent cultivation plan is the core manifestation of talent cultivation mode. In order to ensure the high quality of new talent cultivation plan, Teaching Affairs Division has joined the various secondary colleges to further revise and better the talent cultivation plan as well as to organize experts to better it.
