2016-09-08
Recently, Party Secretary Tang Yayang carried out survey deep into all secondary colleges, investigating their development and construction through in-depth exchanges with their leaders and directors
To Establish First-class Leadership
In the survey, many secondary college leaders were vibrant and enthusiastic. Secretary Tang said with deep emotion, “Since we have a good team with ideals, capabilities and courage to explore and innovate, why should we worry about not being able to surpass the past and being able to achieve our goals” He put a special emphasis on establishing a good leadership, saying the leaders of a department play a key role as only a first-class leadership could lead first-class team to carry out first-class performance and educate first-class students. A good team must have political perspective, stress disciplines, unity, and work together harmoniously. A good team should put the development of the school and the cultivation of students in the first place. A good team should be serious with principles in dealing with big issues while showing tolerance in trifles. A good team should be able to provide an overall planning with a scientific orientation for the development of the college on the basis of present conditions.
He hoped that the college leaders be unified in the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s speech, and in the development arrangements of the school in the new era.
To Develop According to the Features of Each College
Each Secondary College varies in disciplines, majors, education histories and targets, etc. In the survey, Secretary Tang Yayang provided analysis and guidance for each case after careful listening to the relevant reports.
He proposed that the development of each college should ally with the development of the school with goal orientation and strategic positioning in the lead; secondary colleges should actively go out to seek for resources while enhancing themselves from inside, promising comprehensive utilization of limited resources from multi-channels and that the money is spent where it is most needed. Under the national background of building universities into “dual firs-class”, advantageous disciplines with the strength should have a long-term goal to become the driving forces and models in school discipline construction with its outstanding features in some aspects by being either unique or superior. Some colleges with long history should emphasize cultural development and heritage, alumni work in order to promote the construction of campus culture.
To Have a Correct Approach to Problems in the Development
In the research, each secondary college pointed out problems concerning team construction, discipline construction, personnel training, and hardware facilities construction. After careful listening to the comments and suggestions, secretary Tang Yayang pointed that we should have a correct understanding of reform and development of schools and colleges by neither blindly being optimistic nor direct giving up as we can not avoid but to have a thorough analysis of the problems in order to seize the main contradiction and its main aspects. We should have a dialectical view of problems, distinguishing the immediate problems from the long-term ones, telling problems for each department from problems for the school as well as the partial from the overall.
Secretary Tang said that since both opportunities and challenges existed in the present development of higher education, our school should never relax on the road of connotative development but adhere to quality, talents and features until finally our goals are achieved. At the same time, he also said the school would increase the happiness index for its staff and students as much as possible so that the campus overflowed with the positive energy “to be up, good and forward”.
Each secondary college shows this survey enhances their courage in fulfilling their responsibility in work and they will complete various tasks required in the survey. The school also collects opinions and suggestions for which relevant departments provide written replies respectively. (Report/photo by Yang Jia)
