Talent is the foremost resource driving development. In order to achieve the strategic goals of the "Three Advances and Three Highs" initiative, and to spearhead the construction of the Xiangjiang Laboratory, the university attaches great importance to talent development. By employing various methods such as "going global, inviting talent, and recommending talent", the university adopts a wide range of channels to attract talented individuals. The organization of the "Xiangjiang Scholars Forum" serves as a significant initiative under the "inviting talent" aspect, concentrating efforts to bring in talented individuals. Since 2017, this form of forum has been successfully held for three sessions.
To ensure the success of this academic forum and attract outstanding talents, the CPC Committee Teacher Affairs Department, in collaboration with the various secondary schools, has been actively recruiting talents since the beginning of the year through a combination of online and offline methods. The recruitment efforts involved online participation in video interviews, virtual job fairs, as well as offline visits to "Double First-class" universities in Beijing, Guangzhou, Wuhan, Xi'an, and other cities to recruit leading experts and doctoral candidates in various disciplines. The 47 scholars who participated in the "Xiangjiang Scholars Forum" were selected from over 300 resumes submitted to our university. They were chosen based on their outstanding qualifications and alignment with our university's disciplinary and professional development needs. This selection process reflects the university's talent recruitment standard of being both eager to seek talents and selective in choosing the best candidates.
The successful conclusion of the "Xiangjiang Scholars Forum" organized by HUTB and Xiangjiang Laboratory has provided a platform for experts and scholars from both domestic and international backgrounds to engage in insightful discussions and exchange of ideas. It has created opportunities to enhance understanding and promote communication, injecting new vitality into the high-quality development of the university's talent pool.
