HUTB Teachers Participate in National Academic Conference on Mental Health Education and Counseling for College Students

From May 25 to May 27, Dai Ji, Director of the College Student Mental Health Education Center, along with her team, participated in the 14th National Academic Conference on Mental Health Education and Counseling for College Students.
The conference was hosted by the College Student Mental Counseling Professional Committee of the China Association for Mental Health, and hosted by Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The theme of the conference was "Upholding Integrity and Innovation: New Patterns and Developments in Mental Health Education in Higher Education". The conference aimed to deeply study and implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress. It also aimed to implement the spirit of the National Conference on Ideological and Political Work in Colleges and Universities and the Work Promotion Meeting on Mental Health Education, and to summarize the experience of mental health education and counseling in higher education in recent years. The conference provided a platform for exchanging new theories and concepts in mental health education for college students.
During the conference, HUTB teachers, namely Dai Ji, Fu Zhengzheng, and Wu Sheng, attended one keynote speech, two thematic presentations, six thematic forums, and six workshops. They engaged in in-depth discussions with colleagues from across the country on topics such as the mental health of college students as a group, the development of mental health courses for college students, peer counseling, and the training of mental counselors. The discussions were rich in content and focused on key aspects of these topics.
Dr. Dai Ji, Director of the College Student Mental Health Education Center, delivered a presentation entitled "The Application of Systemic Trauma Theory in Higher Education" at one of the thematic forums. Her presentation received an enthusiastic response from the attending teachers.
As a model university in the field of ideological and political education, a demonstration university for enhancing the mental qualities of college students designated by the Ministry of Education, and a demonstration center for mental health education in Hunan Province, our university will continue to actively participate in and share its achievements. We are committed to making contributions to the advancement of college students' mental health education and the cultivation of well-rounded individuals in the new era.
