HUTB Hosts 2024 Teacher Classroom Teaching Competition

On April 13, the final round of the HUTB 2024 Teacher Classroom Teaching Competition was held at the Lezhi Building. Ten teachers from various teaching units participated in the final competition. The competition invited five internal and external experts to serve as professional judges. Deans of various teaching units and young teachers observed the competition, and Professor Zhang Ling, Vice President of HUTB, attended the event to provide guidance and observe the competition.

Since January 2024, through the preliminary competition at the school level and the semifinals at the university level, a total of 10 teachers were selected to participate in the final round of the competition. The on-site finals were conducted in strict accordance with the requirements of the final round of the Hunan Provincial Higher Education Teacher Classroom Teaching Competition. The participating teachers selected 16 teaching segments from the 20 teaching segments determined in the preliminary round at the university level. Half an hour before their performance, one teaching content was randomly selected from the 16 teaching segments for classroom teaching. Each participating teacher conducted a 20-minute classroom teaching session, after which they entered the teaching reflection room. Combining with the actual classroom teaching, they completed the teaching reflection material for the taught segment within 45 minutes, focusing on teaching philosophy, teaching methods, and teaching process. The reflection material should be within 500 Chinese characters. The expert judges scored the participating teachers' classroom teaching and teaching reflections fairly and impartially. Four teachers were awarded the first prize, six teachers were awarded the second prize, and ten teachers were awarded the third prize. The university will select and recommend six outstanding teachers to represent our university in the 12th Hunan Provincial Higher Education Teacher Classroom Competition in 2024.

In the final round, during the short 20-minute teaching and 45-minute teaching reflection, the participating teachers accurately grasped the teaching content and pace, emphasizing innovation in teaching philosophy and methods. They demonstrated the art of classroom teaching from multiple dimensions, showcasing the high level of teaching competence and style of our university's teachers.
