2024-05-02

On the occasion of the 29th World Book and Copyright Day, the Library planned and held a variety of reading activities with the theme of "Elegance in Literature, Transmission of Classics", aiming to inspire enthusiasm for knowledge among teachers and students and to inherit and promote the excellent Chinese culture.

On the evening of April 23, the main event of World Book and Copyright Day, a recitation competition, was held at the Qiushi Academy. The head of the Library attended the event and served as a judge. Yi Songzhi, Director of the Library, encouraged teachers and students to actively participate in reading, cultivate good reading habits, enjoy the pleasure of reading, broaden their horizons, and enlighten their wisdom through reading.

In the competition, the contestants demonstrated the charm of classic works with expressive recitations. With passionate or affectionate interpretations, they exhibited the connotations of the works with their voices and emotions. This allowed the audience to appreciate the charm of the classics and feel the power of words. Excellent contestants and teams won bursts of applause and cheers from the audience with their wonderful performances.

Prior to this, the university's South and North Campuses respectively organized a variety of distinctive sub-activities, including offline forum sharing, collage poetry, postcard making, and Zhihuishu. These activities created a strong atmosphere for the main event of World Book and Copyright Day, allowing teachers and students to experience the joy of reading in a relaxed and enjoyable gaming environment.

While the sub-activities were underway, the registration for the main event of World Book and Copyright Day was also in full swing throughout the university. Through online and offline promotion, the event attracted a lot of attention and many teachers and students signed up to participate. After the exciting competitions of the preliminary and semifinal rounds, a total of 6 teams advanced to the finals.

In light of this reading season activity, the Library will continue to promote a resource-oriented series of online or offline reading sharing, resource promotion, and other activities, providing rich reading resources and communication platforms for teachers and students throughout the university. The Library will hold more diverse and content-rich reading activities, filling the campus with the fragrance of books and making reading a habit.
