On the afternoon of June 1, coinciding with the university's "Towards 2035: Integrating Creativity for the Future" Technology and Culture Expo and the 2nd Science and Technology Festival, the Labour Union organized a fun and diverse Children's Day parent-child event for the families of faculty and staff.
Based on the children's ages and interests, and guided by the guiding principle of safety, warmth, and parent-child interaction, the event carefully organized three handicraft projects: "Tea Oil Handmade Soap Making," "Woodworking," and "Print Kiln Fire Ceramics Making," with a total of six sessions.
At the event site, every seat was filled with vibrant laughter and joy. With careful explanations and guidance from the staff, the children actively participated and engaged in hands-on activities, while the parents patiently accompanied and assisted them.
In the "Tea Oil Handmade Soap Making" activity, the children learned about the history of camellia oil and handmade soap, experienced the processing techniques of modern products, and developed an interest in science. In the "Woodworking" activity, they had the opportunity to personally experience traditional Chinese woodworking techniques and appreciate the spirit of craftsmanship. In the "Print Kiln Fire Ceramics Experience" activity, by visiting a ceramics workshop and engaging in the pottery-making process, they gained an understanding of the cultural heritage of Chinese ceramics.
This event not only allowed the children to enjoy the fun of hands-on activities and spend a rich, joyful Children's Day but also provided a wonderful and engaging parent-child experience for the faculty and staff. During the event, adorable smiles and heartwarming moments were captured, receiving unanimous praise from the faculty and staff. It conveyed the warmth and care of the Labour Union , embodying the spirit of a family.
