HUTB Grandly Holds Commendation Conference 2022 and Work Deployment Meeting 2023

On the afternoon of January 10, Commendation Conference 2022 and Work Deployment Meeting 2023 were grandly held in Chufeng Lecture Hall of the Economic Management Complex. The meeting was attended by Chen Xiaohong, Secretary of CPC HUTB Committee, Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory and CAE Academician, Huang Xin, Deputy Secretary of CPC HUTB Committee and President, Wang Minggao, Director of HUTB Academic Committee, Xiao Xiaoqin, Deputy Secretary of CPC HUTB Committee, and other chief leaders, members of the CPC Committee and senior professors. Mr. Tan Xiancai, an outstanding alumnus, was invited to attend the meeting. All division-level cadres, all award-winning personnel, some professors, doctoral representatives and representatives of democratic parties attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by President Huang Xin.
Vice President Liu Guoquan read out the Circular on Commending the Award-winners of HUTB’s Outstanding Contribution Award in 2022 and the Circular on Commending the Winners of HUTB Academician Academic Innovation Award, Academician Academic Newcomer Award, Representative Achievement Award and Baker Tilly Scientific Research Award Fund in 2022.
Secretary Chen Xiaohong presented awards to advanced individuals and teams who won "Outstanding Contribution Award", "Academician Academic Innovation Award", "Academician Academic Newcomer Award" and "Representative Achievement Award". Subsequently, Academician Chen Xiaohong donated the Academician Award Fund of HUTB for "Excellent and Diligent” students in her own name. Vice President Gan Dejian accepted the donation on behalf of the university, and student representatives presented flowers to Academician Chen Xiaohong. In the awarding ceremony of Chinese Modernization Research Institute of HUTB, Secretary Chen Xiaohong presented the plaque to Yi Mianyang, Vice President and Executive Dean of the Institute.

Chen Xiaohong, Secretary of CPC HUTB Committee, Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory and CAE Academician, delivered a speech entitled "Catch up with learning, excel in competition, strive in unity, converge majestic strength and realize a new leap in history".
Secretary Chen Xiaohong pointed out that only by summing up the past can we better look forward to the future. 2022 is the year of the 20th CPC National Congress, a crucial year for implementing the “14th Five-Year Plan”, and an important year for a new journey of building a socialist modernized country in an all-round way and marching towards the goal of the second century. In the past year, all faculties and students have worked with one heart and one mind, forged ahead, written an extraordinary chapter with struggle as the pen, promoted the outstanding achievements in various undertakings of the university, and formed ten highlights of work as follows: 1. strengthened theory; 2. more powerful CPC building; 3. more advanced innovation platform; 4. more outstanding scientific research achievements; 5. more brilliant teaching work; 6. more eye-catching performance of students; 7. more exciting exchanges and cooperation; 8. more beautiful and modern campus; 9. more fulfilling happiness and security; 10. enhanced university-running reputation. The university also won the honorary title of “Civilized Campus in Hunan".
Secretary Chen Xiaohong said that while striving to accelerate the development in 2022, the university also strove to do practical things for teachers and students, so that everyone can share the fruits of reform and development, and the big family of HUTB is full of more attitude, temperature and enthusiasm. 1. Empower students to grow into talents in all directions; 2. Ensure the employment security of students with high quality; 3. Continuously improve the income level of faculty; 4. Greatly increase the number of positions for professional title evaluation; 5. Effectively safeguard the health of teachers and students and campus safety; 6. Focus on creating a smart campus model; 7. Further improve the study and living conditions; 8. Continuously improve the quality of campus environment; 9. Actively solve problems for teachers and students, and conduct "heart-warming activities"; 10. Enrich the recreational and sports life of teachers and students.
Secretary Chen Xiaohong emphasized that achievements come from struggle and victory doesn’t come easy. These achievements stem from the enthusiasm and innovation of CPC HUTB Committee, the close cooperation and joint efforts of all departments of the university, the hard work of teachers and students, including retired veteran comrades, and the strong support of alumni. The footprints of every dream catcher converge into the general trend of the leapfrogging development of the university. Like the great motherland, HUTB today has realized the dreams one after another, and shows the vitality, continues its spirit and is confident and heroic! With new era, new journey and new great cause, answering the examination papers of the new era well requires us to grasp the new requirements and gather together before starting. We should be more proactive in creating new great achievements, seek transformation in conforming to the new pattern, strengthen our connotation in promoting high quality, and promote leap in creating a new situation.
Secretary Chen Xiaohong pointed out that 2023 is the first year to fully implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress, and also the decisive year for HUTB to upgrade its university-running level. She emphasized that to embark on a new era journey, we should thoroughly study and implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress, profoundly understand the decisive significance of that the Party has established Comrade Xi Jinping’s core position on the Party Central Committee and in the Party as a whole and defined the guiding role of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, develop greater consciousness of the need to maintain political integrity, think in big-picture terms, follow the leadership core and keep in alignment, foster stronger confidence in the path, theory, system and culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and uphold General Secretary Xi Jinping’s core position on the CPC Central Committee and in the Party as a whole, and uphold the Central Committee’s authority and its centralized, unified leadership. With "improving initiative, seeking transformation, strengthening connotation and promoting leap" as the work theme, we should stick to our goals, work hard, and conscientiously complete all the work throughout the year, especially 10 key aspects. 1. Promote the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress to enjoy popular support; 2. Cast a soul with Xi Jinping's new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics; 3. Secretary Chen Xiaohong called on all the faculty to be oriented toward goals, performance and result, earnestly enhance the planning, pertinence and effectiveness of work, and act more forwardly to accelerate and rise at the beginning. With the courage to break through, the spirit to be the first, the vigor to flourish and the ambition to face difficulties, we will promote the building of innovative HUTB, cultural HUTB, artistic HUTB, sports HUTB, digital and intelligent HUTB, green HUTB, and happy HUTB to show new features and create new achievements! Let's struggle in unity and push the ship HUTB forward towards the goal of "Three Advances and Three Highs”! Let's embrace our dreams, walk hand in hand, and write the wonderful chapter in 2023 together!
President Huang Xin pointed out that Secretary Chen Xiaohong's speech comprehensively summarized the top ten achievements and top ten livelihood issues of the university in 2022, and made scientific and careful arrangements for the university’s work in 2023 from ten aspects. He emphasized that all secondary CPC organizations and secondary units should conscientiously implement the spirit of speech and work arrangements by Secretary Chen Xiaohong, continue to thoroughly study and implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress, conduct the fundamental task of cultivating people by virtue, take "improving initiative, seeking transformation, strengthening connotation and promoting leap" as the work theme, and closely focus on the central task of upgrading the university-running level and the strategic goal of "Three Advances and Three Highs", and achieve more brilliant achievements in 2023.
