HUTB Wins the Women's Basketball Championship in Hunan Division Selection Competetion of 25th Chinese University Basketball Association II

From March 12 to 18, sponsored by Federation of University Sports of China and Department of Education of Hunan Province, and undertaken by HUTB and Changsha Medical College, Hunan Division Selection Competition of 25th Chinese University Basketball Association II was held simultaneously in HUTB (women's team) and Changsha Medical College (men's team). Liu Xiao, former vice chairman of Hunan Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and President of the University Basketball Association of Hunan, Xiao Xiaoqin, Deputy Secretary of CPC HUTB Committee, Yan Sheng, member of the Standing Committee of the Basketball Association of Hunan and Secretary General of the University Basketball Association, attended the event and presented awards to top three teams. 

Our athletes sprinkled with sweat on the field, fought bravely together in the name of team and won glory for the university. Wandering between opponents in attack and defense transition, fighting tenaciously, and going all out with basketball running flexibly in hands perfectly interpret the competitive spirit. Team cooperation and powerful teammates are their confidence to go forward bravely. 

After five days of fierce competition, the women's basketball team of HUTB defeated the teams from National University of Defense Technology, Foreign College of Central South University of Forestry and Technology, Hunan University of Chinese Medicine and Xiangtan University with scores of 55: 29, 52: 20, 52: 22 and 53: 24 respectively. On the evening of March 16, with the last whistle of the referee, HUBT finally defeated the team of Hunan Institute of Technology with a score of 64: 50, won the women's basketball championship in Hunan Division of the 25th Chinese University Basketball Association II, and successfully won the ticket for the national finals. In addition, Cao Bin, the head coach of our basketball team, won the title of "Excellent Coach" at the provincial level. (Reported by Shi Yaxuan from Converged Media Center)
