HUTB Hosts Hunan Province "Digital Intelligence Finance and Technology Regulation" Graduate Summer School

On August 23, the opening ceremony of the Hunan Province "Digital Intelligence Finance and Technology Regulation" Graduate Summer School and academic frontiers lecture, organized by the Department of Education of Hunan Province and co-hosted by the Graduate School and the School of Finance of HUTB, were held in the Conference Room B601 of the Xiangjiang Building. Vice President Liu Guoquan attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. The opening ceremony and the academic frontiers lecture were respectively hosted by Du Yan, Dean of the Graduate School, and Liu Saihong, Dean of the School of Finance. More than 230 students from universities such as Renmin University of China, Wuhan University, Xiamen University, and Hunan University, as well as relevant leaders from the Graduate School and the School of Finance and summer school teacher representatives, attended the learning sessions both online and offline.
During the opening ceremony of the first phase, Vice President Liu Guoquan introduced the academic advantages and talent cultivation model of HUTB, as well as the background and significance of hosting this summer school. He emphasized that the deep integration of internet technology, artificial intelligence, and the financial industry is the development trend of the new era. He encouraged the students to enhance their scientific research capabilities through this summer course and also presented work requirements to the organizers of the summer school.
Liu Saihong, Dean of the School of Finance, introduced the school's educational resources and, in conjunction with the latest industrial and academic developments in the fields of digital intelligence finance and financial regulation, outlined the objectives and features of this summer school. Luo Changqing, Vice Dean of the School of Finance, provided details about the course schedule for the summer school. Dr. Peng Han, speaking on behalf of the faculty, discussed the recent developments in intelligent computing and financial technology, emphasizing the importance of integrating digital intelligence technology with the field of finance. Graduate student representative Xu Hao shared his experiences regarding academic achievements, life during the summer school, research plans, and goals. He pledged to study diligently and showcase his abilities during the summer school.
In the second phase of the academic lecture session, Professor Liu Liya from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics conducted a comprehensive analysis of the Silicon Valley Bank crisis, covering aspects such as the causes of the crisis, risk contagion, and regulatory assessment. She also presented a series of reform measures, drawing on various perspectives from scholars both domestically and internationally. Professor Liu delved into the causes and impacts of the Silicon Valley Bank crisis from a theoretical perspective and provided policy recommendations from the standpoint of financial regulation. She elucidated the evolutionary path from case events to theoretical research. The lecture blended theory with practice, inspiring both teachers and students to engage in deep reflection on the risks and prevention measures in the field of finance.
The Hunan Province "Digital Intelligence Finance and Technology Regulation" Graduate Summer School has provided an advanced learning and exchange platform for outstanding finance students from across the country. It guides students to delve deeper into the knowledge of financial technology, financial regulation, and digital intelligence finance, broadening their academic horizons, staying updated with technological advancements, and further enhancing their academic and research capabilities.
