9th HUTB Student Cultural and Arts Festival Commenced

On the evening of October 10, the 9th HUTB Student Cultural and Arts Festival officially commenced. The opening ceremony took place simultaneously on both the South and North Campuses. The event was attended by Chen Xiaohong, Secretary of CPC HUTB Committee, Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory, and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Liu Guoquan, a member of CPC HUTB Committee and Vice Presidents of HUTB, and Li Dingjun, Chief Leader of HUTB, along with the faculty and students, enjoyed the opening ceremony and an enthusiastic music performance.
In the Xiangjiang Lecture Hall on the South Campus, the 9th HUTB Student Cultural and Arts Festival opening ceremony and the second-anniversary celebration of the School of Music were jointly organized by the CPC Committee Publicity Department of HUTB, the HUTB Committee of the Communist Youth League of China, and the School of Music at HUTB. The music performance was conducted and directed by Professor Xiao Ming, a National First-Class Conductor and Dean of the School of Music. The event featured the Xiangjiang Symphony Orchestra, faculty from the School of Music, and the Changfeng Chorus. The music concert left the audience with unforgettable moments through splendid artistic performances, strong political guidance, and soul-stirring emotional connections. On the North Campus, the HUTB Committee of the Communist Youth League of China, the Student Affairs Division, and the North Campus Management Committee collaborated to create a lively welcoming party for the new students of class 2023. This event showcased the vibrant and enthusiastic spirit of HUTB students.
It is reported that the 9th HUTB Student Cultural and Arts Festival consists of three major categories, including "Upholding Tradition and Pursuing Excellence," "Innovation and Pursuing Dreams," and "Enjoying Freedom and Pursuing the Wind," with a total of 16 activity projects. These activities will be carried out in various forms, such as skill exhibitions, talent performances, forum lectures, competitive contests, cultural exhibitions, and case exchanges. The purpose of these activities is to deeply study and promote Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. The aim is to create a healthy, positive, uplifting, and refined campus culture, inspiring and guiding the youth to consciously connect their personal dreams with the future and destiny of the country. This will help carry forward the university's spirit and contribute to the high-level development of the university.
The HUTB Student Cultural and Arts Festival not only enriches the extracurricular activities of college students but also enhances their overall quality and promotes their comprehensive development.
