For this book-sharing session, the selected book for discussion is "New Quality Productive Forces" written by Chen Xiaohong, Secretary of the CPC HUTB Committee, Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory, and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE). The aim is to grasp scientific thinking and methods through reading and sharing, understand the new quality productive forces from multiple perspectives and in a comprehensive manner, analyze the driving forces and new growth poles of China's economic development from multiple angles, and explore new paths for high-quality development.

Professor Nie Zhi from the School of Marxism Studies, Professor Hou Hailiang from the School of Microelectronics and Physics, and Professor Deng Xin from the School of Finance delivered speeches and exchanged views based on the viewpoints discussed in "New Quality Productive Forces". They interpreted and elucidated the concept of new quality productive forces from the perspective of Marxist political economy and the three elements of productivity. They emphasized that the emergence of new quality productive forces has given rise to new industries, new business formats, and new models, which in turn place higher demands on workers' knowledge and skills. Students should enhance their abilities in interdisciplinary learning, innovative thinking, and teamwork, seizing the opportunity in the new trend of the integrated development of culture and technology. They pointed out that the book is rich in content and offers unique insights, providing valuable references and inspirational significance for a better understanding of "new quality productive forces" in a fast-paced manner. It is worth everyone's study and reading.

Eighteen student representatives from different schools gave presentations based on their majors and reading experiences. They expressed their determination to stay at the forefront of their disciplines, liberate their thinking, constantly seek knowledge, and remain attentive to the latest developments in science and technology as well as the strategic needs of the country. They emphasized the importance of enhancing research and innovation capabilities, breaking down disciplinary barriers, actively acquiring new knowledge and mastering new technologies, actively participating in practical projects, and consequently promoting the development of new quality productive forces through practical actions. The sparks of ideas were shining in the exchanges and communications, and the atmosphere at the event was filled with the fragrance of books, exuding a lively and pleasant ambiance.

Vice President Gan Dejian pointed out in the concluding speech that this book-sharing event was an important initiative by the CPC HUTB Committee to promote the thorough implementation of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speeches and instructions during his visit to Hunan. It also served as a crucial means to earnestly implement the requirements for the integrated development of culture and technology. He expressed his hope that teachers and students will cultivate good reading habits, read more books, read good books, and learn how to read books. He encouraged them to truly experience the charm of ideas, thinking, and reflection, absorb nutrients, broaden their horizons, and increase their abilities through reading. With hard work, excellence and civility can become habits. He encouraged everyone to strive to become high-quality and outstanding talents with a global vision, patriotic feelings, benevolent hearts, and professional competence and to achieve the best results of HUTB’s youth.
